Amazon Announces Additional Free Games for Prime Day - Including "Suicide Squad": take on the Justice League

With Amazon Prime Day less than a week away, the online retailer is gearing up for its 10th annual Prime Day sales event in a big way. In addition to an epic wave of deals, Prime members will also have access to an epic array of free items, including full-length games.

Prime Gaming is one of Amazon Prime's best membership perks, and the platform already offers access to a rotating selection of gaming goodies each month. For Prime Day 2024, however, Amazon has decided to further enhance the perks and add three free games that will be available next week.

Beginning Tuesday, July 16, Amazon Prime members will have access to "Suicide Squad," "Kill the Justice League! Kill the Justice League," "Chivalry 2," and "Rise of the Tomb Raider: 20 Year Celebration" for free. These games are playable on PC and can be redeemed via the Epic Game Store. Prime members can redeem them within 48 hours, so set a reminder.

There's no doubt that the star of this trio is Suicide Squad: especially since Batman Arkham developer Rocksteady's latest title was just released this past February. While the game has not received the same critical acclaim as the Arkham series, one TG staffer described it as "an amazing superhero package."

In this co-op action game, you choose a member of the Suicide Squad (there are four to choose from: Harley Quinn, Deadshot, King Shark, and Captain Boomerang) and set out to explore a warped version of Metropolis. Your mission is to confront members of the Justice League who have been warped by the villain Brainiac. Along the way, you will acquire a variety of color-coded loot. Because "Suicide Squad" is that kind of online experience.

If you don't feel like getting into a loot shooter, we highly recommend checking out two other free games: Chivalry 2, a brilliantly silly online brawler in which you take on the role of a medieval knight and recklessly wield a sword. Rise of the Tomb Raider, on the other hand, is a cinematic single-player adventure that shamelessly borrows ideas from the Uncharted series.

As noted above, these three games will be available for purchase for a limited 48-hour period beginning July 16 at 3 a.m. ET, and if you subscribe to Amazon Prime, you already have access to Prime Gaming. So be sure to check back next week to get these free items. And even if you don't have time to play right now, you should redeem them because once they're claimed, they're yours forever.
