Apple announced Apple Intelligence at last month's WWDC keynote, but no mention was made of its inclusion in one of the company's latest products, the Apple Vision Pro.

Apple Intelligence is the iPhone maker's answer to the growing demand (and competition) for artificial intelligence technology in consumer hardware. It has been confirmed to be included in the latest iPhone and Apple Silicon Mac and iPad, but not elsewhere.

During WWDC, the company revealed that it will come to other platforms in the future, and a report by Bloomberg's Mark Gurman suggests that VisionOS may be high on its agenda.

Apple's Vision Pro is more powerful than some entry-level MacBooks, with 16GB of RAM, M2, and hardware running Apple Intelligence. The problem is the interface.

According to Garman, "Apple is actively working on putting features on the device, but it won't happen this year." That's because they need to come up with a new UI.

Interacting with Siri or Apple Intelligence on a phone, laptop, or tablet is not that different from sending a message via iMessage, but finding a more user-friendly interface for spatial devices is more complicated.

The user interface design team must develop ways to make various aspects of the writing tools, OpenAI's ChatGPT integration, and the new Siri work in a mixed reality environment.

We may have to wait until WWDC and VisionOS 3 in 2025 before we see a broader deployment of Apple Intelligence into Apple Vision Pro. However, since it is essentially a version of iPadOS, it may happen sooner if developers create a suitable UI by then.

Competition with Meta is also intensifying. Quest Makers has integrated MetaAI into all of its mixed reality and smart wearables, including Ray-Ban glasses.

Meta is also in development, building a variety of small, large, and vision-based models, including those that run on the device.

Apple has reportedly rejected Meta's approach over a partnership due to MetaAI's privacy concerns.
