Samsung Galaxy Ring Leaks Reveal Key Health Tracking Features - What You Need to Know

The Samsung Galaxy Ring is rumored to make its debut at the Samsung Galaxy Unpacked event on July 10 While we have seen this smart ring in person, we still don't know much about what the ring will do, how much it will cost, and when it will be available However, this new leak could fill in the blanks before the Unpacked event

Android Authority claims to have discovered important details about the Galaxy Ring in a new APK teardown of the Samsung Health app While this is not a complete picture of the possibilities offered by the Ring, it is quite eye-opening to see how the Ring and the app are linked

Not surprisingly, the Galaxy Ring is said to be able to measure both heart rate and stress levels This is the minimum that a health-focused wearable should do In addition to that, it appears to be able to measure skin temperature, predict menstrual periods, and even detect snoring

Snore detection is a feature that is already part of the Galaxy Watch, which uses the smartwatch and smartphone to figure out how much noise you are making while sleeping

Galaxy Ring appears to work in a similar fashion, and screenshots show that Galaxy Ring can be used to measure snoring as long as the phone is charged nearby

Indeed, all of these features are possible with the recent Galaxy Watch, and the Galaxy Watch 7 is expected to be released with Galaxy Unpacked as well; it is not clear from Android Authority's APK teardown that it is more than a smartwatch We can expect the slimmer, less bulky ring to offer a bit more functionality than this

Samsung claims that the Galaxy Watch will last up to nine days on a single charge, but that will undoubtedly depend on the features used and the specific size; according to FCC documents, the Galaxy Ring comes in three sizes, 17mAh and 185mAh, respectively, 22mAh batteries will be offered

It has also been reported that the Galaxy Ring may include an ECG sensor and a sensor for "blood flow measurement" Specific details have not been disclosed, and so far Samsung has not been very forthcoming with details

Thankfully, Galaxy Unpacked will take place next week In the meantime, be sure to check out our Galaxy Unpacked hub for the lowdown on all the devices we expect to see at the event
