Google to Announce Breakthrough AI Feature in Pixel 9 - Here's what we know about Google AI

An inside source says Google is working to introduce several new AI features to the Google Pixel 9.

A Google inside source told Android Authority about plans to introduce a series of new machine learning features under the new brand name "Google AI," alongside already existing features like Circle to Search and Google Gemini. , the report revealed three new features for the Pixel 9.

The first new feature is "Add me," which claims to allow anyone to appear in group photos. The description is minimal, but is expected to be similar to the "Best Take" feature on the Google Pixel 8 series, which uses AI to combine elements from multiple photos to get the best overall result. The next feature is called "Studio," which "you imagine, Pixel creates," the description says. This feature is most likely the Creative Assistant app reported earlier, but the description seems to do more than generate stickers.

The last and arguably most interesting feature is "Pixel Screenshots"; readers of the Copilot+ PC article may be familiar with a feature called Microsoft Recall. This much-maligned feature, which automatically captures everything you see, has caused a bit of a privacy storm.

But to get around this security concern, Pixel Screenshots works entirely through the screenshots you choose to take, rather than constantly monitoring what you are doing.

We've seen the power of the Pixel 9's rumored Tensor G4 chip and other newly leaked on-device AI features. Google's new device may not be able to stand up to the Apple Intelligence-powered iPhone 16, but these changes could make it a formidable mid-range competitor with big AI capabilities.

We'll have to wait and see if Google can deliver on its promise when it officially unveils its next-generation Pixel phone (expected in August). Until then, stay tuned to the Google Pixel 9 and Google Pixel 9 Pro hubs for rumors and news.
