Apple leaks full 2025 iPad lineup, including new M5 iPad Pro

It's only been two months since Apple unveiled its refreshed M2 iPad Air and brand new M4 iPad Pro. But thanks to a leak of new device identification information, we may already know what the Cupertino crew has in store for us in 2025.

According to details discovered by Nicolás Álvarez and shared on X by @aaronp613, there could be as many as four new iPad models in development, including Wi-Fi and Cellular editions:

This leaked information includes code While only details of the identifiers are provided, the AppleDB team has made some best guesses as to which model the IDs represent. While only guesses at this point, these may turn out to be fairly accurate, as Apple's code identifiers follow a familiar pattern.

The codes are often lower than the chips inside the devices, so the iPad (2022) is identified as iPad 13,18 and iPad 13,19 because it has an A14 chip. This pattern is also the reason why the same group was able to identify four new iPhones that may appear in the near future.

Since the 13-inch iPad Air (M2) is known as iPad 14,10 and iPad 14,11, and the 13-inch iPad Pro (M4) is known as iPad 16,5 and iPad 16,6, it is reasonable to assume that iPad 17,3 and 17,4 are tablets with the M5.

In other words, according to the identifiers found so far, it seems likely that new iPad, iPad mini, and iPad Pro models are on the way. Given that Apple has already refreshed several editions of the iPad this year, it seems unlikely that a second edition will appear anytime soon, and the new models will likely appear sometime in 2025.

Of course, while the hardware that powers the tablet plays a role, the software is equally important. Apple first showed off iPadOS 18 at this year's WWDC, and there are some important performance upgrades in the works for several existing iPad models, including the announcement of Apple Intelligence for M-powered tablets.
