Forget Bose - Ultimate Ears Introduces Loud and Affordable Everboom Speakers

A number of portable speakers have been released in recent months, and the Ultimate Ears Everboom, announced today (June 26), joins the ranks.

Portable sound systems at various price points, including the Sony ULT Field 1 ($129), Beats Pill ($149), and Bose SoundLink Max ($399), are vying for the title of best Bluetooth speaker we have tested It has been a busy summer for outdoor speakers. But none looks as promising as the new Ultimate Ears Everboom in the mid-price range.

A smaller version of the impressive 2023 Epicboom, the high-profile Everboom is available in four color options and is now available at Ultimateears.com for $249/£249. It is also expected to be available through online retailers.

Ultimate Ears already has several Bluetooth speakers ranked among the Best Outdoor Speakers and Best Waterproof Speakers due to their great sound, long battery life, and practical durability. It sits between the company's Megaboom ($199) series and Epicboom ($349) speakers and is available in charcoal black, azure blue, lilac, and raspberry red color options.

Everboom's oval speaker cabinet design is similar to Epicboom's, but lighter and more portable; Everboom, like the rugged design of most of the company's speakers, is designed to be taken anywhere; it is IP67 durable rated, dustproof and waterproof to withstand brief submersion in water. It can even float! Plus, it easily attaches to your bag or backpack with carabiners, so you can take it with you on any activity or adventure.

According to UE, the precision-tuned drivers ensure punchy, clear mids and highs, with deep bass and articulate vocals; the Boom app lets you adjust the sound to your liking with a variety of preset EQs, and the outdoor listening The Boom app offers a variety of preset EQs to adjust the sound to your liking, as well as an outdoor boost button that delivers bass optimized for outdoor listening.

Everboom's battery life is up to 20 hours, and there is a USB-C port for charging.

In addition, one-touch NFC functionality is available for NFC-enabled smartphones running Android 8.0 or later; simply power on, pair, and connect to play. At the time of this writing, there is no mention of the popular PartyUp feature, which pairs multiple Ultimate Ears speakers.

Meanwhile, the new Megaphone feature within the updated Boom app allows users to amplify their voices through the speakers when they speak into the smartphone's microphone. This feature is available on all UE speakers compatible with the new Boom app.

Again, the new Everboom is available now from Ultimateears.com, priced at $249/£249 and available in four colors: charcoal black, azure blue, lilac, and raspberry red. According to Ultimate Ears, the speaker will also be available in Australia, New Zealand, and Europe in the coming months.

Along with today's Everboom launch, Ultimate Ears will also update its popular Wonderboom, Boom, and Megaboom speakers. All have USB-C charging ports, enhanced features, and vibrant color options. For example, the Boom 4 ($149) and Megaboom 4 ($199) speakers feature enhanced bass radiators to unleash even louder sound and are available in Active Black, Cobalt Blue, Raspberry Red, and Lilac.

The Wonderboom 4 ($99) features a podcast mode to enhance listening to your favorite hosts and stories and is available in Active Black, Hyper Pink, Cobalt Blue, and "Joyous Bright."
