'Star Wars: Acolytes' Finally Gets Me Hooked - And It's All About the Dark Side

Disney Plus' latest series, "The Acolyte," starring Amandla Stenberg and Lee Jung-jae, has been embroiled in an online hate ruckus.

But its latest episode, a nail-bitingly exciting spectacle, may have finally silenced all the raging noise. From a big death in an incredibly well-crafted lightsaber battle to a big reveal of the series' overarching villain, the fourth episode of "Acolyte" finally brought us the "Star Wars" we fans have been craving.

However, the show was not without its flaws. A poor script and some selective decisions in the story have given the series an odd start, but for those invested, things are looking quite promising.

If you haven't yet seen "Star Wars: Acolytes" and the newly released fourth episode, now is your chance. Please note that.

What will be on everyone's mind when watching the latest installment of "The Acolyte" will be its amazing battle scenes, which will last the longest of the episodes. The scene, in which the masked villain goes one-on-one with Cofer's entire Jedi team, is a great example of what Disney can really do with this franchise.

In the climax, Master Sol, played by Lee, confronts the main villain. He places a helmet lined with smiling teeth at his feet, revealing that his dark side-wielding adversary is a Sith.

It may not have been the most satisfying surprise--many expected this twist--but Kimir fits his role perfectly. In his new guise, the aspiring villain successfully sells his place in the "Star Wars" pantheon, leaving a trail of Jedi corpses in his wake with little effort and exuding a force to be reckoned with.

And there are still more surprises as May, played by Stenberg, is taken away with Kimir, and Osha, also played by Stenberg, leaves Kofar with Master Sol, who is dressed as her twin sister. There is still no end to the questions as to what Master Sol is hiding from the two twins and how he is involved in the fire that burned down their home.

Who knows where the next "Star Wars: Acolytes" will take us, but one thing is for sure: the green-skinned Jedi, Vernestra Lewor, played by Rebecca Henderson, is up to something. The green-skinned Jedi, Vernestra Lewwow, played by Rebecca Henderson, is up to no good.

It's no secret that the show has received a lot of flak, but things now seem to be shaking out to bring to light a "Star Wars" show worth investing in. Script and narrative issues aside, "The Acolyte" could be the next hot property for "Star Wars" fans, and it's only a few weeks away from its eight-episode climax.
