The TikTok store already seems to be the place to find reasonably priced stuff, but July is It's going to be even cheaper, with what TikTok calls "Deals For You Days" taking place before Prime Day on July 9

"Brands and retailers like L'Oréal Paris, Our Place, Too Faced, Zwilling USA, TikTok Shop exclusively will offer thousands of products at huge discounts," TikTok said in a blog post.

TikTok was apparently waiting for Amazon to make a move on the Prime Day date before announcing the sales event. According to the company, it will offer "trending fashion and beauty products, backyard entertainment essentials and decor, summer reading bestsellers, and more." Unfortunately, the company makes no mention of technology in its list of categories, so it remains to be seen if anything that appeals to us will be discounted.

In TikTok fashion, the sale is social. Merchants and creators can participate in content challenges of short videos and LIVE shopping events, interact directly with followers, and share their favorite products and bestsellers," the company explains.

The company announced that several prominent content creators will participate in the event. These include simplymandys, Canvas Beauty founder Stormi Steele, and Tati Westbrook.

TikTok has recently had success growing its retail business. According to a Bloomberg report, the company is targeting as much as $17.5 billion in retail sales in the U.S. this year. By launching sales events like "Deals Day," the company may be able to reach that goal.

In the long run, assuming TikTok is not banned, eMarketer projects that social commerce sales will more than double from $67 billion in 2023 to $144.5 billion by 2027, with TikTok likely to be a big part of that growth TikTok is likely to be a big part of that growth.
