Dear Paramount Plus subscribers, there's a lot going on this month. This month is packed with new movies and shows for all your entertainment needs. Whether you like horror or informative documentaries, Paramount Plus has you covered for the next few weeks.

With classic films streaming and innovative originals premiering, there's something for everyone - check out our in-depth guide to the exciting content coming to Paramount Plus in July.

"Drag Me to Hell" must be one of the greatest horror films of all time, if only for its ending. The plot centers on Christine Brown (Allison Lohman), a loan officer at a Los Angeles bank. In an attempt to win the favor of her boss and get a promotion, Christine refuses to extend a mortgage to an elderly woman named Sylvia Ganush (Lorna Raver). In retaliation, Ganush places a curse on Christine that will drag her to hell in three days (quite cruel).

As the curse begins to take effect, Christine experiences a series of terrifying supernatural events. Desperate to save herself, she seeks help from a psychic named Ram Jas (Dileep Rao). The two try various methods to break the curse, but as time runs out, Christine faces an increasingly terrifying ordeal.

Premiered July 1 on Paramount Plus

"Martha Marcy May Marlene" is one of the best films about a cult. It follows a young woman named Martha (Elizabeth Olsen) as she escapes from an abusive cult. After fleeing the cult, Martha contacts her estranged sister Lucy (Sarah Paulson), who takes her to the lakeside home she shares with her husband Ted (Hugh Dancy). Despite the seemingly safe environment, Martha's sense of reality becomes increasingly distorted. She experiences paranoia and flashbacks and becomes unable to distinguish between her past experiences in the cult and her present life.

Premieres July 1 on Paramount Plus

"Memory" is a psychological drama revolving around a lonely and seemingly stable woman named Sylvia (Jessica Chastain), who meets a man named Saul (Peter Sarsgaard) at her high school reunion. At a high school reunion, she meets a man named Saul (Peter Sarsgaard), which brings back traumas from her past. Saul, who suffers from dementia, evokes disturbing memories from Sylvia's past, triggering a deep psychological journey for her. "Memory," which premiered at the 80th Venice International Film Festival in 2023, earned Chastain an Independent Spirit Award for Best Lead Actor.

Premiered July 7 on Paramount Plus

"Melissa Etheridge:" A documentary series that follows rock musician Melissa Etheridge as she interacts with five female inmates at the Topeka Correctional Facility in Kansas. The series was inspired by letters sent to Etheridge from these women, detailing their personal struggles and experiences. Etheridge will use these letters as inspiration to write and perform original music for the girls.

The documentary highlights the significant increase in the rate of incarceration of women and the often overlooked challenges that incarcerated women face. Having personally experienced the loss of her son to opioid addiction, Etheridge brings a deep empathy and understanding to this project.

Premiering July 9 on Paramount Plus

The six-part "Mafia Spy" is another film to add to the list. The film delves into the secret partnership between the CIA and the Chicago Mafia during the Cold War. Based on Thomas Meier's book "Mafia Spies: The Inside Story of the CIA, Gangsters, JFK, and Castro," the series explores the plot to assassinate Cuban leader Fidel Castro. This collaboration between government agents and the Mafia, fueled by the tensions of the time, especially after the Cuban Missile Crisis, highlights the kind of hand the U.S. was dealt. The government left no stone unturned to eliminate anyone it considered a threat. The film features interviews with people directly involved in the case, including historians, journalists, mafia boss Sam Giancana's daughter and actor Robert Davi.
