We are still quite a way from actually seeing the wild Samsung Galaxy S25 phone, but the rumored factory is never idle. 

Despite reports that the Snapdragon 8GEN4 chipset will drive up the price of many Android flagship phones, according to a new report from Android Police, Samsung will launch the s25 series.

Previously, it was claimed that Samsung would take advantage of its in-house Exynos processor. Perhaps the 3nm Exynos2500 chip will appear in 2025 and could be the next chip in the S25 series, at least outside the US. Currently, the S24 series uses Snapdragon 8GEN3 chips in some markets, and Exynos2400 and S24Plus in other regions. Wherever it's sold, the Samsung Galaxy S24Ultra will be powered by Snapdragon 8gen3 in all regions.

However, analyst Ming-Chi Kuo says at X that Qualcomm will be the "only supplier" of the S25 series. He claims that the Exynos2500 may not ship at all because Samsung is struggling with the 3nm manufacturing process. 

This is not a big surprise for Samsung. The S23 model featured Snapdragon 23gen2 on all Galaxy S2 phones.

According to Kuo's report, Samsung appears to be struggling to produce a well-functioning 3nm Exynos chip. Qualcomm is likely already working on the next generation of Snapdragon 8 chips. We expect to see the company unveil its new chipset on the 9th or perhaps 10th of this year. 

For many, upgrading to Qualcomm chips is a good thing. Exynos2400 was consistently inferior to Snapdragon 8GEN3 in benchmark tests. Qualcomm's processors offered higher performance and efficiency compared to Samsung's Exynos chip.

Unfortunately, choosing to all-in with Qualcomm's next chip can boost the price of any phone they will install, Ming-Chi Kuo says that prices could rise between 25% and 30%.  And it goes without saying that the S25 may require a large battery to run Snapdragon 8GEN4 chip.  This year's Galaxy S24, S24Plus and S24Ultra went on sale at prices ofれ799,9999 andれ1,299, respectively.

The S24Ultra was the only one to see price increases from the S23Ultra, but it is increasingly looking like the entire lineup will be more expensive.
