VPN by Google for Pixel Owners - Google One VPN Replacement

Google loves nothing more than offering exclusive features to Pixel users. You'll have first access to camera tools like Magic eraser, a host of new AI tricks, or even improved security using your own VPN.  Since 6/20, Google has taken a new crack at its best VPN service, replacing Google One VPN with Google's Pixel VPN.

The latest Play Store update, originally touted as an exclusive feature of the Google Pixel8 series, also saw built-in VPNs on Pixel7, 7Pro, 7a and Pixel Fold phones. This is great news for those with some of the best Android phones who want to stay safe and secure when connected to the Internet. Best of all, despite the rebranding, Pixel owners are still free.

For a start, the logo. The iconic "One" design, replaced by the "G" on the blue shield, is gone. But that's enough about graphic design, what is functionally different?

Well, it's not quite launched yet, but early impressions suggest very few changes. The headline is a little bit of great news, especially given that Google wants us to continue to use its phone for longer with a longer update support guarantee

What you might notice is that there is a key-shaped icon in the status bar instead of a permanent notification with a "1" sign in the number. It is. Nice little change, but again almost revolutionary.

If you have a pixel but want the top level of protection, or quite understandably do not trust Google, you do not have to worry. The best Android VPNs offer privacy and security at all sorts of different price points. Of course, Google's VPN is free for Pixel owners, but that's not the only option. Now our favorite free VPN is PrivadoVPN free.

For those on iOS, you don't have to feel left out either. We cover you with the best iOS Vpn. For both Android and iOS, our top choice is between ExpressVPN and NordVPN. You can't go far wrong with either.
