Still, in just a few weeks before the rumored announcement of these new phones, some big questions remain about Samsung's foldable phone plan. Samsung usually releases a new foldable version later this year, and rumors predict an earlier-than-usual debut for the Galaxy Z Fold6 and Galaxy Z Flip6 this summer. In fact, the 7/10 date is headed for the next Galaxy Unpacked event — Samsung hasn't confirmed it yet — and you can see the foldable updated in a few weeks

Assuming the sped-up release date is accurate, it makes lingering questions surrounding the new crease and gets all the more press attention. That would be an important move for Samsung to make. The main attraction of the foldable phone is the larger internal screen, but the wider outer screen that handles some tasks on the cover display and wants to expand your phone makes the Samsung foldable an attractive phone for those who want to do more on the goal while retaining the larger internal screen

(it's worth it). For those, the Galaxy Z Flip 6 covers too big after Samsung expanded the Z Flip 5's outer screen to 3.4 inches, and the Galaxy Z Flip 6 features a 3.9-inch cover display. The rumored factory is pretty silent about the multitasking improvements that OnePlus Open challenges what it offers through its Open Canvas feature. Most software changes may not be revealed until the Unpacked event, but that will be heard more in the coming weeks.

The increase in the cover screen size of the Galaxy Z Flip6 is not the biggest rumored change for Samsung's flip phone. Instead, we're finally trying to get a flip on the main camera with high resolution.

Since the original Flip, Samsung has relied on a pair of 12MP sensors to act as the main camera and an ultra-wide-angle camera. Rumor has it that the Galaxy Z Flip6 is set to get a 50MP sensor for the main lens, so this is supposed to change in this go-round.

This certainly means a high-resolution shot, but with a 50MP main camera trimming and creating a 12.5MP photo, you get a sharper 2x zoom. As anyone using a camera phone knows, the improved hardware is only part of the story - what photo processing improvements Samsung plans for its new foldable, especially the Galaxy Z Flip6.

Given the foldable appeal of flip phone style - they're supposed to evoke the spontaneity and style of flip phones a generation or so ago, but so far, the camera has felt like an afterthought, so this is Samsung's chance to change the story with the Galaxy Z Flip6.

If you follow Samsung's launch of the Galaxy S24, you'll see that AI is a big focus on Samsung's smartphone release this year. Samsung's commitment to the Galaxy AI feature is so complete that it is rolling out the features introduced in the S24 series to older phones such as the Galaxy Z Fold5 and Galaxy Z Flip5 as well.

So what does it mean that a new foldable file will come out?

To some extent, Samsung has already answered that question. In a blog post early on May 6, we confirmed that the new Galaxy AI features will be part of the new foldable, and even confirmed that some features suggest taking advantage of the phone's unique design.

"We will further optimize the Galaxy AI experience for the upcoming foldable devices to deliver an all-new and unique AI experience," said Won-Joon Choi, Samsung's Head of Mobile Research and Development. "Our foldable is the most versatile and flexible form factor on the Samsung Galaxy, and when combined with Galaxy AI, these 2 complementary technologies come together to unlock all new possibilities."

What the foldable AI capabilities could allow remains in the air. One of the rumored features suggests that Galaxy AI optimizes hand-drawn sketches and notes, and while this extended sketch/note-taking feature, introduced as part of Apple Intelligence capabilities for Apple devices, sounds great for the Galaxy Z Fold6 and its accompanying S-pen, the Galaxy Z Flip6 may also benefit from Galaxy AI.

There was only one important pricing rumor for Musun's new foldable phone, but that's not good news.1 Steve Hemmerstoffer — posted the rumor as OnLeaks and has a pretty decent track record when it comes to Samsung phones that haven't been announced - both the Galaxy Z Fold6 and Galaxy Z Flip6 have a starting price for the current model, which means that the new flip will cost you a cost of £1,099 and offer a price of price1,899 where the crease breaks your wallet.

Pricing rumors tend to pick up shortly before product launches, so hopefully the next few weeks will bring more reassuring news. But if these rumored prices were accurate, it would be terrible news for the Galaxy Z Fold6 and Galaxy Z Flip6.

The price of a foldable phone is already very high — it is understandable given the material and know-how needed to bend the screen in half. Raising these prices even a little will discourage more people from taking a chance on the foldable design. And with not a lot of rumors in the way of significant updates to these new phones, you can expect price increases to come from the upgrade by the time the current foldable device Galaxy Unpacked comes out, Motorola has already held its own launch event at 6.25 am and expect the latest Motorola Razr device to come out. If the Motorola Razr Plus2024 comes out at the same価格999 price as the current model, or if you see a discount, the price increase for the Galaxy Z Flip6 will be even more noticeable.

There's no real standout improvement advertised on either the Galaxy Z Fold6 or the Galaxy Z Flip6, except that Samsung's foldability could add a Galaxy AI tool. Screen size adjustments, improved camera sensors and even a switch to the Snapdragon 8GEN3 chipset are all standard on the course of the annual phone update.

On the other hand, at the same unpacked event that the foldable phone is supposed to debut, we found more about the features and prices of the Galaxy Ring, and also introduced new features, such as the Galaxy Watch7 with a new look and excellent battery life, and the Galaxy Watch Ultra, which promises to be one of the most powerful smartwatches ever.1 Watch the Galaxy Watch

The phone is my bread and butter, but I've found that rumors of the Galaxy Ring and Galaxy Watch are far more intriguing towards the Galaxy Unpacked. And with increased competition on the front of the foldable phone I mentioned, this seems like a bad time for Samsung to play safely on the Galaxy Z Fold6 and Galaxy Z Flip6
