The strongest hint yet of a possible "Ted Rathbos" revival.

Rejoice, "Ted Rathbos" fans: the Apple TV Plus tentpole comedy series may not be over after all.

Jason Sudeikis' heartwarming soccer comedy show ran for three seasons and ended in 2023. Fans have been hoping for a revival of the series in some form for some time, and several stars have already suggested that the show may be continuing (Nick Mohamed joked about a fourth season on Twitter/X). But the biggest hint that the series may continue comes from Channing Dungey, CEO and chairman of Warner Bros. TV Group, who said that the show "has been in the works for a long time.

Speaking at the Banff World Media Festival on Monday, June 10 (as reported by Deadline), Dungey said that Apple would like to see the show continue in some form, whether it be a "Ted Lasso" season 4 or some sort of spin-off set in the same world He said he would like to see it continue.

"We've had conversations about all of the above," she said.

"I think Jason Sudeikis is open to the idea, but I think he wants the right idea. We at Warner Bros. and Apple appreciate it. Because we don't just want to do a lot of things; we want to do a lot of things because we actually have something to say and a story to tell. Let's see what happens."

So, while this is not a 100% definitive assertion that "Ted Lasso" will return, at least Dungey's comments show a willingness to do more. In the twelfth and final episode of "Ted Lasso" Season 3, AFC Richmond defeated West Ham and were on the precipice of winning the Premier League if Manchester City lost in the final game. While Richmond won, City also won and finished second overall in the league.

Richmond did not have a fairy-tale ending, but many of its key players did. Owner Rebecca Welton (Hannah Wadham) made the decision to sell 49% of the club to Richmond fans (and perhaps built a romance of her own), Roy Kent became Richmond's new manager and began therapy with Dr. Sharon.

In addition, Coach Beard remained in England and married Jane, Keeley approached Rebecca with a proposal for a Richmond women's soccer team, and Trent Crim completed a book about the club and (with feedback from Ted) renamed it The Richmond Way .

So where did Ted end up? After struggling with being so far away from his family, Ted made the decision to return to the United States. However, he did not turn his back on the sport forever. When he learned that his son Henry had started coaching the soccer team he plays for, his happy smile made it seem as if this was the right decision for him.
