With iOS 18, you can do this with your iPhone even when the battery is dead

iOS 18 will reportedly allow users to view the iPhone clock even when the battery is dead.

In a recent Reddit post, user ant_t99 showed off an image of an iPhone that shows the time in the upper right corner even when the battery is dead. This is a feature seen on the Apple Watch, but this is the first time it has been seen on an iPhone. The image also reveals a feature added in iOS 15, the ability to find the iPhone even when the battery runs out.

As a feature, it is not the most exciting thing we saw at WWDC, but it could benefit users in the right circumstances. Basically, it means that users will never be without time. However, there is the question of how long the clock will be displayed on the phone before it completely turns off.

iOS 18 brings a wide range of new features to the iPhone, but Apple Intelligence is locked to the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max due to hardware limitations. One of the most significant additions is a number of new home screen customization options, allowing users to position app icons and widgets without being restricted to left-to-right or top-to-bottom options.

Meanwhile, compatible devices will be able to take advantage of Apple's new Apple Intelligence, an upgraded Siri that offers more features and ChatGPT integration. Apple Intelligence can generate images using prompts and can also create Genmojis in the Messages app.

The ability to check the time while the battery is out may seem tedious compared to the wealth of other features that could help those in need. However, it raises the question of when the power is actually turned off compared to when it is simply turned off.
