Since its debut in 2015, "Inside Out" has held a special place in my heart. So it was definitely one of the movies I couldn't wait to see before summer, when the sequel to this animated film hits theaters on June 14. Afterwards, I will be deeply moved, a little teary-eyed, and happily assembling the first ever Lego set dedicated to this franchise.

The Inside Out 2 Mood Cubes set is a recent release from LEGO's ongoing Disney-Pixar collection (which famously includes the LEGO "Up" house) and is a must-buy for anyone who wants to keep the lessons of the movie alive in their children's minds, in my I think. Accepting, understanding, and managing emotions is a topic that "Inside Out" dealt with beautifully, and a 394-piece set like this one will help reinforce the message.

At only $34, the "Inside Out 2 Mood Cube" is an interactive activity for both longtime Inside Out fans and those new to the character. Essentially, one can design nine different mood plates and swap them out based on what is happening on the control board, just like in the movie.

The mood plates are designed using the mosaic art featured in LEGO DOTS. The plates are attached to the cubes and can be picked up and rearranged within the base to reflect a combination of moods. Moods based on the film's characters include Sadness, Joy, Anger, Fear, and Disgust in the original, and Envy, Weariness, Embarrassment, and Anxiety, which appear in the sequel.

Anxiety also gets the Disney character treatment, along with Joy and the two Foreman mind workers. The idea is that the characters are placed on a control board display stand. Children can play with them and use the plates to express the mood they are feeling.

And the best part? The cube can also be used for storage, so small treasures can be kept in it. The lid can be decorated with the included sticker pack, providing another bit of creativity to the assembly.
