Honor has announced a new collapsible clamshell for the Honor Magic V Flip. This is a device that should probably have a huge external display that is larger than 4 inches, which will be bigger than the upcoming Motorola Razr+2024. 

The first announcement was discovered by Phone Arena on Chinese social media platform Weibo. Officially, Honor will announce Magic V Flip, which will host the technology fashion show in Shanghai on 6/13 2024.

This timing could steal a bit of lightning from the Galaxy Z Flip7, which is rumored to be launched at the Galaxy Unpacked event on 10 May 6. 

Although there are no specifications in the initial announcement, Honor has set up a booking page on its Chinese site. It has some specifications that we can see.

Magic V Flip is available in black, champagne and white. And it looks like it comes in 12 storage sizes with 3GB of RAM, 256GB, 512GB and 1TB.

But that's about it. Again, there are rumors that the exterior display will be larger than 4 inches. Although it does not indicate what the main display will be. Other rumors include a 4,500mAh battery and 66W fast charging. The Galaxy Z Flip6 features a 5-inch external display that will be a major upgrade from the Galaxy Z Flip3.4-inch cover screen.

As Honor is expanding globally, we expect Magic V Flip to escape from China soon after the announcement of Honor.

Earlier this year, we saw Honor Magic V2.This is an excellent foldable phone that should have come out earlier, mainly due to the large asking price.

Since the Honor phone is expensive, we expect the Magic V Flip to be expensive too. In the same week, Honor is launching the Honor200 and 200Pro. But it may not be part of the Shanghai fashion show. The 200 and 200Pro are supposed to be Honor's foray into 4-tier generation AI. It will be interesting to see if all of Honor's upcoming phones are equipped with these AI capabilities, or if they keep the tool in the 200 series.

Honor's 4-layer AI is supposed to be on-device, so the new Magic V Flip may not be powerful enough to handle the functionality. Hopefully, Honor will provide more technical specifications during the 6/13 release.
