Android15beta2.2 has been launched — here's the new one

We're still away from the final release of Android15, but the Android15 beta is already available — and it's getting some much-needed improvements. Android15beta2.2 doesn't add any major features to the beta version, but it fixes some issues that have plagued users since the launch of Beta 2 last month.

One of the fixes included in the update is something we already know because 1 seems to have been fixed as part of Android15beta2.1. I'm talking about an issue that some people have experienced setting up a private space for the first time all the home screen icons are removed, the original fix didn't quite work or Google has included it for those who missed the 2.1 beta update.

Other fixes include resolving issues with GOOGLE Wallet and NFC payments may NOT work properly."There is also a fix for an issue with NFC observe mode, and payments are no longer processed for some time.

Other issues mentioned in the patch notes include an issue where the app drawer does not open when swiping up from the home screen, and an issue where 10-bit HDR video has an exciting green tint. This is "alongside a variety of other issues that were affecting the stability, interactivity, and connectivity of the system.""If you've signed up for the Android15 beta, this update is rolling out the Google Pixel phone right now. My Pixel8a did not get updates automatically.

If you are not registered with Android15beta, be sure to check the guide on how to install Android15beta. That way, you'll be able to check out all the new features and upgrades you'll have to offer before the software goes public later this year. The trade-off is that some of these features may not work exactly as Google intended.
