Nothing says it's a phone Nintendo and nothing phone (3) could be your AI's "best friend"

Update: Tom's Guide contacted Nothing PR for comments about whether AI enhancements will arrive on older devices, saying, "More information will be shared later."

With devices like Nothing Phone (2) and Nothing Phone (2a), we haven't already waged a place before the budget smartphone race. Now you're ready to boost your AI presence with the Nothing Phone line-up.

In a new video posted to various social networks, NOTHING CEO Carl Pei sat down to highlight his thoughts on AI.Most notably, he's looking at how AI can better serve his customers, and how it can better serve his company's entire product.

Pei discusses everything from his opinion on what the best AI form factor is to nothing likening it to the gaming giant Nintendo. At APPLE's WWDC event next week, we expect Apple to announce a new partnership with OpenAI while previewing this year's AI-focused iOS18 update. The words of Pei indicate the most important importance of this technology in our daily lives.

Finally, Pei also showed to anyone's surprise when expecting the long-awaited Nothing Phone (3), which, in theory, would be infused with a slew of AI entreats that should make it stand out among the ever-increasing crowd of AI-infused smartphones.

Nothing's new video touches on many key points about consumer AI, and Pei explains that his ideal AI form factor is a smartphone. But before this ideal product came true, the 34-year-old co-founder and CEO pointed out how the smartphone user experience (UX) needed a dramatic makeover.

Pei describes a future where smartphones do not need apps to function the way they do today, because the smartphone operating system will be able to take advantage of all the same services and pull them together in a way that "makes your day easier.""This is where Nintendo gets into the equation.

In describing the Japanese video game maker, Pei points out that the best Nintendo Switch games are "brought up from a drive to create the most human and enjoyable experience.""Here, we're not aiming to form our own AI formula in a way that allows the company to make things fun and more personalized for the end user," he said.

This exploration of AI begins with a completely redesigned home screen. In place of all the best Android apps, all

in parallel with the redesign of the home screen, Pei will be able to share with you, "like best friends", as described by a software engineer named Walid, so that you automatically show QR codes for upcoming events and news updates tailored to your interests. In a video of AI Nothing tailored to your needs, Walid shows that when AI first set up the device, it asks a few questions about your personality and interests.

These companions vary from user to user and serve you in a much improved way thanks to being unbound from a particular app or container, this AI companion can be used for voice and voice over earbuds like the Home screen, lock screen, glyph interface, and even Nothing Ear. Through voice, you can be informed virtually anywhere across your device.

Pei concludes the video with the most exciting news yet — a sneak peek at the nothing Phone (3) debut. The aforementioned AI upgrade will be first realized on the next device, which is expected to launch in 2025. Such AI enhancements will counter other AI-heavy smartphones like Google Pixel8Pro and Samsung Galaxy S24, but Google and Samsung could have new phones like pixel9 and Galaxy S25 by next year.
