iPhone16 and iPhone16Pro Design – The 5 Biggest Rumors of the New iPhone

When the iPhone16 arrives this fall, it will not appear to be much different from the iPhone models that came before it. That's the nature of smartphones these days unless you show off a new foldable design — and we do not expect the iPhone to flip until 2027 — the phone will not change everything radically every year.

However, I'm not saying that there is no difference in design from the iPhone16 model. The rumors are not a radical departure from the past iPhone, but point to some new additions that can help the new phone stand out in the crowd, especially changes to the iPhone16Pro model can be easily found.

So, here's what we still know about the phone's tentative release date and Apple's iPhone16 design plan out of a few months. These are the biggest design changes rumored with 4 new iPhones coming this fall.

Last year, the iPhone15Pro and iPhone15Pro Max replaced the mute switch on the side of the phone with a new action button. Early rumors suggest the iphone16 and iPhone16Plus will follow suit with their own action buttons this fall.

From what we've heard, the action button on the iPhone16 works almost the same way as the current Pro model. Long press, the call will be silenced, the function of the mute switch will be reproduced, you can see that the phone is vibrating and the sound is muted. However, from the Settings app, you can also set the action button to trigger a specific shortcut, such as launching an app, turning on a flashlight, launching a voice recorder, or performing a specific action within a specific app. You can even tie the action buttons to the series of actions you've put together with the built-in shortcut app.

What we don't know is whether Apple will address the 1 limitation of the action button — that it will only be tied to 1 specific action It is possible that Apple will introduce multiple presses associated with different shortcuts, but if you have to guess, it is possible that Apple will address the 1 limitation of the action button. We assume that we will keep things as they are, as it will bring more and more mobile phones to the market.

It's not just the action buttons on the iPhone side this year. Apple is rumored to also add a capture button, and unlike last year's launch of the Action button, this will be available to all iPhone models from iPhone16 to iPhone16Pro Max.

The actual function of the capture button is unknown, but from its name, you can launch the camera app to capture photos and videos without unlocking the phone. In theory, the activity of the camera is the state of the capture button, so release the action button to support another shortcut.

There's a little more detail about where the

button will be placed — it's reportedly just below the power button. Early reports have also suggested that the capture button could become a solid capacitive button that uses haptic feedback to mimic how a physical button responds when pressed.  This rumor strictly applies to the iPhone16Pro model and is well known to anyone who has heard rumors of the latest iPhone16display. Reportedly, the iPhone16Pro and iPhone16Pro Max have a larger display than the compatible models of the iPhone15Pro, which is 6.3 inches for the Pro and 6.9 inches for the Pro Max.

Under this rumor, the iPhone16 and iPhone16Plus will maintain 6.1-inch and 6.7-inch screens respectively.

With a big screen, the phone itself needs to be bigger (but not as big as you think, as explained in the next rumor). The rumored dimensions of this year's phone suggest that the iPhone16Pro will be 15mm taller than the iphone3pro and about 1mm wider. Similarly, the iPhone16Pro Max requires both phones to be expanded with similar dimensions, with the same thickness as their predecessors.

The larger physical size is added to the weight of the 2 new phones, the iPhone16Pro weighs more than the iPhone15Pro 7 grams, and the iPhone16Pro Max picks up an extra 4 grams The 2 Pro models are supposed to have a larger battery than their predecessors, so the weight increase is also taken into account.

There are another iphone1pro-specific change that will help explain how Apple will fit into a larger display by only slightly increasing the height and width of the phone.1 Reportedly, both iPhone16Pro models have a smaller bezel, and in particular the iPhone16Pro has the smallest bezel of any phone.

Specifically, the iPhone16Pro should have a 1.2mm bezel, while the iPhone16Pro Max bezel has been reduced to 1.15mm.The bezel of the iphone15Pro was 1.71mm, which did not look exactly chunky. On the other hand, the Galaxy S24Ultra has a 1.5mm bezel, so Apple is beating its competitors with this change.

The Iphone16 and iPhone16Plus do not sound like they are getting a similar treatment because they make the copper wiring under the phone's screen more compact, making the border reduction structure process difficult to do correctly. Apple is reportedly throwing weight behind the thinner bezel of the Pro model because it is difficult to produce displays in large quantities using this method.Another difference in theory in the comparison between iphone16 and iPhone16Pro.1

The iPhone16 and iPhone16Plus should feature their own design changes and will include a camera array on the back of the phone. In the current model, the main lens and the ultra-wide lens are arranged diagonally as they have since the debut of the iPhone13. The IPhone16 could return to vertically stacked lenses based on the leaked rendering of the new phone.

This redesign is not just for aesthetic reasons. When recording spatial video, both the main camera and the ultra-wide camera capture footage at the same time, so the final video has the immersive depth you need. This is easier to do with vertically stacked lenses, so consider this move motivated by Apple's desire to capture spatial video that more people will see with apple Vision Pro headsets. Every little bit helps when you're trying to convince people to try people3,499 devices.
