In "The Boys" Season 4, things are very tense. In the first clip from the next installment of the Prime Video superhero series, Billy Butcher and the Homelander enter a (nonviolent) showdown. Butcher (Carl Urban) approaches the Homelander's son Ryan (Cameron Crobetti) and takes him away from his father. Butcher takes Ryan to Grace Mallory (Lyla Robbins) and offers to leave him alone. 

Ryan seems to be at odds, but the arrival of the homelander quickly reveals which side of the impressive (and increasingly superpower) 10-year-old is on.

The homelander uses his powers to easily identify that the butcher suffers from terminal illness, as revealed last season. He jokes about Michael Jackson's Neverland Lunch, then confidently walks away with Ryan. Butcher is left alone to deal with his late wife's son's inability to convince him to join him, but the Homelander is clearly excited to see a performance from the '90s alt-rock band Smash Mouth.

Given how famous "The Boys" is for its over-the-top violence, as depicted in the full trailer for the fourth season, this clip is a calming, calming way to entice viewers to check out the season premiere. "The Boys" reminds us not only of outrageous moments that inspire social media chatter, but also of a dark, satirical look at the toxic nature of superhero stories.
