Android's new Find My Device feature Could Undergo 2 Major Upgrades — What We Know

Android and Google appear to be adding new security features to Android phones, including the ability to unlock the upgraded Find My Device app with biometric input.

In a recent APK teardown for android Authority, contributor Assemble Debug enabled 2 new features on his Android device. The 1st is the "Allow biometric login" option in the sign-in menu of the "Find Devices" network on Android. What's interesting is that the current version requires a password every time a user accesses an app, unless the user selects the "Never ask again" option.

Other features Assemble Debug unlocked was an improved remote locking feature found within the latest Google Play service. With Find My Device, users have been able to lock their phone remotely for years, but this is the first time they can lock their device using only a phone number and a quick security check. Please note that this feature is not yet fully functional as it is planned for a later release.

Google recently released an updated version of the Find My Device feature with some new improvements to help it compete with Apple's Find My network. With the new version, users can track lost devices and also find devices that are turned off. Thanks to compatible Bluetooth tags, users can find keys, wallets or other gadgets, so it's not just a phone or tablet.

The new version allows users to find nearby devices connected to their account and share their device location with others The updated version also allows them to connect with nest devices, which can become a reference point for finding items in the house. It will be. Finally, you can also play the tone on your device to make it easier to find.

The new version of Find My Device offers users a significantly improved service, and these potential new features make it much easier and seamless to use. However, the APK teardown only records which features might appear based on the code, so there is no guarantee that they will arrive soon.

In the meantime, fans of Android, especially Samsung, should keep an eye on the Galaxy Unpacked hub, which keeps updating with all the news and rumors, including the recent apparent ones on the date of the event itself.
