This new comedy has soared to Netflix's top 10 - and Season 2 has already been confirmed

When you're looking for something to binge on over the weekend on Netflix, the top 10 list is a great place to start. After all, Netflix is one of the best streaming services, so there are always a lot of new shows to watch.1 1 of these will include the new comedy show "Tire", which has already won 2nd place on Netflix, just under the very successful period drama "Bridgerton."

Shane Gillis's comedy series landed on streamers on 5/23, generating nearly 400 million views in the first few days. It was also announced that "Tires" had been renewed for Season 2. The show enjoys early success with viewers, but critics don't sell much in the Netflix original comedy.

If you want to know more about this show and whether it's worth watching, here's everything you need to know.

"Tire" follows a man named Will (Stephen Garben) who wants to do right at his father's auto repair shop. Being an unqualified heir, he struggles to drive profits and turn the business around, and from there things only get worse. His cousin and now an employee, Shane (Shane Gillis), is causing constant trouble. But Will has no choice but to line up his annoying cousin while becoming a better manager.

The comedy also stars Chris O'Connor as Cal, Kira Fox as Kira, and Stavros Halkias as Dave. They play other employees at an auto repair shop named Valley Forge Tires, and they seem to be as concerned about the store's future as they will.

Shane Gillis is a writer, co-creator, and executive producer of Tire. The sitcom actually started on his YouTube channel before turning into a 6-episode season on Netflix in 2019. The streamer also got a stand-up comedy special "Shane Gillis: The Beautiful Dog" in 2023.

This comedy series has not worked well with critics, even though it has won Season 2. In fact, the review is divided when it comes to critical opinions and general viewers. "Tire" currently has an average rating of 50% on Rotten Tomatoes, but the audience score is very high at 92%.

CNN's Brian Lowry said:"In a 6-sitcom-long episode (18 minutes at the shortest), Tire was a little bit of a bone, even before the joke was flat."Meanwhile, Los Angeles Times' Robert Ljord wasn't very happy with the humor: "I wasn't indignant — the humor, like the characters, took it seriously." He is a boy too sharp to be seen. Still, I never laughed."

Some critics offered positive views on this comedy. Wall Street Journal's John Anderson believes that "the unexpected nature of the joke is the main reason the show works, but after all revealed along its way, surprise and honesty is the radial of the comedy steel belt.

On the contrary, many Netflix subscribers seem to enjoy "tires." Some of the audience reviews on Rotten Tomatoes describe how "hilariously refreshing" it is, and the common phrase "I'm so excited about Season 2."""Tire" seems to be another Netflix show that critics and viewers don't see eye-to-eye.1

The split review makes it clear that viewers are more impressed with this new Netflix comedy series. The show is described as "edgy and politically incorrect," but the jokes don't come across as thoughtless or unkind. Even on a low budget, the "tire" feels unique compared to other comedies in the streaming market.

Do not dismiss this new series purely based on its significant reception. If you enjoy silly humor and need something easy to watch, then this comedy series is worth a try. Judging by more than 100 ratings from Rotten Tomatoes viewers (most of them positive), "Tires" found viewers who appreciated the style of comedy.
