Summer streaming is sizzling with hot new shows and movies to watch in 2024/6 on Netflix, Max, Prime Video and other major streaming services, broadcast and cable TV. 

We highlight the biggest and most bustling new shows and movies that premiered this month. They include several long-awaited return favorites, including "House of the Dragon" Season 2, "Boys" Season 4 and "Bear" season 3. And from a distant galaxy, Star Wars: Acolyte will debut. In terms of movies, Richard Linklater's "Hit Man" is definitely going to be a hit in response to that title.

Premiere 4 Disney Plus

The romantic comedy "Hitman" is set to bring a humorous twist to the action formula on Netflix with star Glenn Powell taking on the role of Garray Johnson, a university professor and part-time New Orleans PD contractor. It has been turned into a mole. Posing as a hitman in a hilarious costume and a slew of accents, Johnson realizes a whole new call in the face of his previous exploits. 

But things change a bit after Johnson meets a woman struggling with the suffering of domestic abuse. Johnson's new role is slightly bypassed when Maddy Masters (Adria Arjona) comes to her husband, Johnson, who is a new target. "Hit Man", released in 2023 at the 80th International Film Festival, has already been a huge success with 93% support on Rotten Tomatoes. -Re

"Presumed Innocence" is a long-awaited thriller series following Rusty (Jake Gyllenhaal), a man who works at a Chicago law firm. His life is completely normal until everything turns upside down, and now he is a suspect in the murder of one of his closest colleagues. This mini-series explores themes of obsession, politics, and the power of love, as Rusty fights to keep his family safe while simultaneously holding his marriage together Gyllenhaal is known for his other thriller projects like "Nightcrawler" and "The Guilty" so he can thrive in this intense mini-series. There is no doubt that it is a good place to start. -AB

Went wrong back for its fourth season with yet another gruesome display of heroes, "The Boys" shaping up for its most demonic outing yet as Homelander (Anthony Starr) gains power. His son, Ryan (Cameron Clobetti), is now in his corner and with a whole new cast of Seven sets to decorate the screen, it's one exciting to see

When the homelander consolidates his powers, Victoria Neumann (Claudia Dumit) is in her race. Gain traction and reach the Oval Office. Meanwhile, the Boys team is away from their leader, Billy Butcher (Carl Urban), who lives only a few months away. Without their most reliable adviser in hand, this will go around, the boys will have to step up their willpower and aim to save the world without dying in the process. -Re

After a very sultry carriage ride, Penelope Featherington (Nicolacofran) and Colin Bridgerton (Luke Newt but when did Bridgerton's love story become easy or simple? The couple will have to navigate some rough seas before they are much happier afterwards. Of course, the biggest obstacle is Penelope's secret identity as Lady Whistle down on the Scandal Monger. Francesca (Hannah Dodd) has her own complicated romance brewing, while Eloise (Claudia Jesse), who knows it all, definitely has some feelings about her brother marrying her former best friend. ・KW

Game of Thrones plunges into a full war of Targaryen vs. Targaryen and Dragon vs. Dragon. Fire and blood, for sure. Rhaenyra (Emma D'Arcy) has been crowned the rightful Queen of Westeros, while her brother King Aegon II (Tom Glynn-Carney) sits on the iron throne supported by his mother, dowager Queen Alicent (Olivia Cooke). Furious at the death of his son Lucerys at the hands of Aemond (Ewan Mitchell), Rhaenyra seeks revenge. She also needs allies among the lords of the realm, including the powerful Stark of the North. -KW

Fans of "Orphan Black" are delighted to know that the new series "Orphan Black: Echoes" will soon be on streaming. This spin-off takes place in 2052 and follows a group of women who mysteriously find their way into each other's lives. Now they have to learn more about who they are while navigating the complex journey of betrayal and love. Lucy (Kristen Ritter) is at the center of this journey, and Dr. Kira Manning (Keeley Hawes) is also leading the series as a scientist exploring the development of cloning. "Echo" has its own identity in the universe, which means that those who had not seen the original show still enjoy it. -AB

Opening a restaurant takes a lot of work, but it doesn't compare to keeping it running. With the help of Sidney (Emmy winner Ayo Edebiri), Ritchie (Ebon Moss-Bachrach) and the rest of the crew dedicated to fine dining his brother's sandwich shop, now they have to fight every day to prepare, cook and serve meals, under Carmy's strict standards. You must be a member of the group. Will the pressure cooker in the kitchen explode? Maybe but watching "The Bear" is an adrenaline rush unlike any other. When the stress begins to accumulate, all we can say is "Yes, chef.""・KW

Premiere June27on Hulu

An alternative version of English royal history serves as the backdrop to this British romantic comedy, putting Lady Jane Gray (Newcomer in real history, Henry 7th great-grandson Mrs. Jane Gray was crowned Queen for just 9 days before she was beheaded). It was a great experience. In this alternate fantasy, her cousin Henry 8, son Edward 4, does not die, so she avoids that fate. Instead, the suffering, ill-fated maiden is free to live a life full of romance and adventure. -KW

Premiere June27On Prime Video

"Fancy Dance" is a new drama film following Jax (Lily Gladstone), a woman who is now caring for her niece Loki (Isabel Deloy Olson) after her sister has disappeared. She takes every opportunity she gets to find her missing sister while helping Loki prepare for the traditional powwow. But Loki's grandfather threatens to take her away, and Jax sets out on a thrilling adventure with her niece to find the missing family. Of course, if what should be a simple investigation does not contain hidden secrets or unexpected turns, then this is not a true drama. -AB
