If you are looking for a phone with a 3nm chipset, the current only option is Apple's iPhone15s, but that may not be the case for a long time Qualcomm's Snapdragon 1gen4 is not only expected to use the 3nm process, Samsung is also preparing to release a 3nm Exynos chipset.

According to a report from DigiTimes, Samsung will announce in 2025 the 3nm chip codenamed Solomon. Prototype chips are reportedly already in production, and mass production is expected to begin later this year. 

Analysts also predict that the final version will be included in the Samsung Galaxy S25 series ahead of the subsequent official announcement. The report also suggests that the S25 could be launched in late 2025, not early 2024, as Samsung usually does. So while it's unlikely that a new phone will push the release date further than usual, it might not.

We have already heard rumors that the Galaxy S25 will adopt a 3nm Exynos2500 chip. It is claimed that the 2500 chip "limits energy leakage and increases the drive current.""In other words, it will be more powerful, but at the same time more efficient. So, it's a pretty important upgrade.

All Samsung phones in the US work with the latest Snapdragon chipset, but the international version often comes with an Exynos chip instead. Qualcomm has already announced plans for a 3nm Snapdragon 8gen4, forcing Samsung to abandon the 2400nm process it adopted on its previous chips, including exynos 4.

Without adopting the 3nm process, the international Galaxy S25 phone will be at a disadvantage because it lacks all the performance and efficiency benefits that come with the small chip. There's always a performance gap between Exynos and Snapdragon Samsung phones, but it's been improving over the years. Therefore, it makes little sense to deliberately widen that gap by not adopting a 3nm Exynos chip.
