Sonos officially announced its first wireless headphones - here's everything you need to know about Sonos Ace

After months of rumors, Sonos has officially announced the first pair of wireless headphones. The announcement of Sonos Ace wireless headphones today (5/21) outlines the specifications, price and release date, and the all-new model is expected to launch in a few weeks.

Sonos is synonymous with multi-room speaker systems, through a line of interconnected speaker models such as home speakers, portable speakers and sound bars, and many of its models are the best thanks to a powerful combination of reliable connectivity and robust Sonos control apps on its ecosystem. Among its smart speakers

As Sonos' most requested product, the first noise-cancelling headphones are integrated with an ecosystem similar to the company's speaker models. Users can seamlessly swap tv audio from the Sonos Arc soundbar for a personalized home cinema experience using Dynamic Head Tracking Sonos will be able to take advantage of this feature when connecting Ace headphones to other Sonos soundbars through future firmware updates. He said that he hopes that this will be the first time that he has seen such a large number of people in the United States.

I haven't experienced the new headphones myself yet, but the review sample is expected to arrive for a full test soon. In the meantime, my colleague Mike Prospero was lucky enough to get the Sonos Ace.

Available in black and soft white matte finish color options with metal accents, Sonos Ace headphones fold with a slim profile Although there was no mention of the overall weight on the specifications sheet I've seen so far, Sonos Ace headphones are pillowy soft for all-day comfort.

Rather than adding touch controls to Ace headphones, Sonos has selected physical buttons on the earcups in Play/pause, Volume up/volume Down, and noise control modes.

Sonos Ace headphones come with a carry case.

As the company's first noise-cancelling headphone, the Sonos Ace uses 8 microphones (3x internal and 1x output for each ear cup) to neutralize external sounds. In recognition mode, you can make ambient sounds so that you can hear what is happening around you.

Sonos says beamforming external microphones are geared for high call quality at both ends of the conversation.

The Sonos Ace can be charged through a universally accepted USB-C port. Battery life is expected to be up to 30 hours when the ANC is turned on, and a 3-minute fast charge is expected to be a 3-hour playback top-up.

Sonos says the new Ace headphones use a ported acoustic architecture to provide exceptional bass depth and ultra-wide sound stages, while remaining incredibly clear. Each earcup is equipped with a 40mm dynamic driver, and the sound tuning of the Ace is 1,000 hours Tess by the music creator

Wireless connection, when connected to a compatible playback device, supports Sbc, AAC codecs, and features aptX Lossless. It works with Bluetooth5.4. The headphones offer near-CD-quality audio capabilities with Bluetooth playback devices and the best music streaming service, but there is no true lossless or hi-res-site. Additionally, there was no mention of Auracast's audio sharing support at the time of writing.

As many wireless headphones Ace headphones can connect USB-C-to-3.5mm audio cable to the wearers wired connection to support playback devices that listen to sound and high-resolution audio.

True Cinema mode captures the acoustics of your room for personalized home theater listening without disrupting the rest of the home when Sonos Ace headphones are integrated with the Sonos Arc soundbar over Wi-Fi.

Sonos Ace headphones have been around for a long time. The best headphone space is very competitive with the top-ranked models of established headphone manufacturers, so it will be interesting to see how Sonos' experience in making some of the world's best soundbars and wireless speakers translates into headphones.
