The Galaxy Z Flip6 and Galaxy Z Fold6 are likely to stick to the Snapdragon chip — here's what we know

According to recent reports, Samsung does not plan to offer split chip options for the Galaxy Z Fold6 and Galaxy Z Flip6, but instead only for the device's snapdragon 8GEN3 chip.

In May, there are rumors that Samsung plans to use the same split chipset as the next-generation foldable, just like the s-series. It was a great experience. For example, in some countries, the Galaxy S24 and Galaxy S24Plus have a Snapdragon 8GEN3 chip, while in others, the phone has an Exynos2400 chip.

However, a recent report from Elec states that Samsung will exclusively use Snapdragon 8gen3 for both foldable phones. This appears to have occurred after the Samsung Mobile Experience business took into account the company's relationship with Qualcomm and the cost of continuing to use the Snapdragon series for its folding phones.

According to the report, this decision is not due to performance issues with the Exynos chip. Instead, it is due to efficiency. The Z-series phones are designed around Snapdragon chips, and adding new chip options will increase the cost. The report shows that Samsung considers the idea of separate chips viable only if the z-series and S-series are sold.

Apart from the chip, I've heard recently that the Galaxy Z Fold6 can get a major camera upgrade that puts it ahead of the Galaxy S24. We also recently heard that in addition to this change, changes will be made to the rear camera housing, which will significantly improve the appearance of the device. There are also signs that the Galaxy Z Flip6 will offer a significantly improved camera.

Z-series phones are a great idea, because continuing to use the Snapdragon chip series basically means that the performance will be stable across the board, but we don't know anything until Samsung announces the phone. Currently, Samsung is expected to unveil the phone in the next Galaxy that was unpacked on 7/10.
