Amazon has upgraded Alexa with new plant care expertise skills and smart home routines. These additions can do everything from explaining how to take care of your particular potted mate to automatically adjusting your smart lights and smart thermostats to help them grow. Just like your echo device is quietly sharing positive affirmations to your home plants, start saying "Alexa, be my plant whisper"

Starting today (May 22), you can ask Alexa more than 35 new questions: "How much light does my Aloe Vera need?""to" How often do I need to replant my peace lilies?Amazon has worked with TV botanist James Wong (best known for the series "Secrets Of Your Food" for non-Britons like me) to curate answers to the most frequently asked questions.

Alexa's routine can automate most of the plant's care. Just go into the Routines section of the Alexa app and you'll find new plant-based routines in the featured categories.

The new routine will remind you to water your plants, automatically turn your smart lights on and off to schedule, adjust your temperature, talk to your plants, and then play a plant-friendly music playlist to encourage growth. This update also deeply expands Alexa's knowledge of the types of plants and how to take care of them.
