Google Pay is getting 3 major upgrades to make payments easier and safer

Google Pay is trying to get three new features designed to improve the online payment experience. And those who are worried about the impending shutdown of the Google Pay app in the US need not worry. This is an update for the Google Pay payment system that is sticking around for very long distances.

These 3 updates include the ability to view specific credit card benefits at checkout, purchase-now-pay-later options, and autofill updates that allow users to check card details by device PIN number or biometric authentication.

Credit Card benefits provide you can keep your spending (and debt) in check, and tracking these benefits best for having a credit card is probably why Google offers the opportunity to see what those benefits are before you check out. That way you can compare the benefits without having to do a lot of research.

This feature will be available today on American Express and Capitol One credit cards in the U.S. and will be available when using the Chrome browser on your desktop. A new drop—down menu tied to the autofill feature will show you what benefits you get when paying with a particular card - it's a poi on flights

Google says this will expand to more cards in the future and hopefully to other regions as well. But for now it's only Amex and Capitol One.

Google launched a buy-now-pay-later trial earlier this year and is now expanding for U.S. buyers. Details of where this might happen, sadly, have not been revealed. However, this kind of funding is not provided by Google itself. Instead, you're going through third-party companies like Affirm and Zip to split those payments. Therefore, if you want to read the Terms and Conditions and other important details, you should refer to them.

The Google Pay card has already been available with autofill for some time, and you will need to enter the card's security code to check everything. Currently, Google is stepping up security, locking the card details behind the same authentication i.e. PIN code, fingerprint, and face scan that it uses to unlock the device.

This is very similar to how you already pay via Google Pay in certain apps. Select your favorite card with Google pay and verify your identity in one of several ways. The difference here is that everything is in the autofill menu. That is, additional security does not depend on merchants with a dedicated Google Pay payment system.

Unlike the other two upgrades, this feature has been deployed around the world and will be available for both Chrome and Android.
