This supernatural thriller is back for its last season — it has 100% on rotten tomatoes

The supernatural-charged procedural "evil" is back on Paramount Plus this week for the fourth and final season, and it seems like the end of the world too

Psychologists Kristen, priest David Acosta, and techie Ben Shakir bring about the Apocalypse by raising children who believe the sinister Leland Townsend will be the Antichrist. And of course, all this is happening while our character is grappling with questions about the nature of faith, fate, and evil itself.

The series has earned a reputation for being a heady mix of horror, procedural mystery, and serialized drama, and has become a hugely important darling since its debut in 2019 due to its unique format and complex theme.

The first part of the final season was recently screened for critics, and the final season continues the series's critically acclaimed streak, which seems to have a rare 100% "fresh" rating on Rotten Tomatoes, all previous seasons have been certified as fresh on the platform, with a "fresh" rating of over 93%.

Writing for Inverse, critic Eric Francisco praised the "holy" chemistry between the series' three leads and said their stellar performance was key to making the series' final outing "compulsively watched."

Similarly, Gizmodo's Cheryl Eddy notes that while the procedural elements of the show take a backseat to character development for the final season, the series remains a "twisted treat" and "no other horror show we want to see.""

The final season of 14 episodes will be streamed exclusively on Paramount Plus, The first episode was removed on 5/23, and subsequent installments were released every Thursday.

Do you need to review the previous stories? The easiest place to catch up with "evil" is Paramount Plus, where all past episodes are currently streamed. However, the first 3 seasons are also available on other platforms for those who have not subscribed to this service.

The first two seasons of "Evil" are currently streaming on Netflix, and the third season of "Evil" was previously exclusive to Paramount Plus, but the streamer released all the episodes of the show's penultimate season for free via the YouTube channel a few days ago, before Season 4. Easy bindings.

Even if you're watching, "evil" seems destined to go down as one of the most ambitious and exciting supernatural shows in recent history, and if you haven't checked it out yet, it's time to get a look at what's going on as this groundbreaking show prepares to make its last bow later this summer. Now seems like the perfect time.
