Google TV launches handy Find my remote feature on android14

Its new Find My Remote feature will come to the new Android14 compatible device in an upcoming update and say no more to the lost Remote on Google TV.

This search is done via Android Authority, which sifted through the updated Google TV emulator build following last week's Google I/O developer conference. A reference to the new "Find My Remote" feature, Google will soon be able to make it much easier to hide under the couch cushion, and its long-lost remote

This feature is well known to some of the best TVs and the best streaming device interfaces, so users will be able to find the best remote. There is no mention yet of when or when the highly sought-after "Find Remote" feature will be available on older Google TV devices, but it will be available natively on newer devices with Android14.

When it becomes available on new Google TV devices running Android14, the settings menu will show you how to play sound on the remote when the remote is lost or lost, however, this requires a Google TV remote with speakers and LEDs, so traditional users like Chromecast with Google TV4K will be able to use the new features. You may need an updated remote control for this purpose.

Find my remote works by flashing the LED and playing the sound on the remote for about 30 seconds. If you are using an older device via a firmware update, you may be able to access this feature, but if the remote doesn't have dedicated speakers or LEDs, it's unclear for now how this will work.It is for this process to work correctly.

Most new TVs are equipped with the Find my remote key in the hardware itself, but have been introduced for the first time in Walmart's Onn Google TV4K Pro streaming box that uses the phone as a wireless Google TV remote to access the feature.

Many Google TV users were concerned that the Find My remote feature would be assigned primarily to Walmart's Onn product, but it doesn't seem to be the case. As Google has not confirmed when to expect an official rollout, it is still clear when this feature will be available on new and older devices.
