"Atlas" has finally landed on Netflix — and the reviews are as shocking as the AI in the movie

Netflix has a pretty juicy slate for this year, and some long-awaited movies and TV shows are set to hit streamers. One includes "Atlas," a Sci-fi thriller that generated a good amount of excitement when the trailer landed. Today it has not arrived on Netflix and received some very surprising reviews even a day later.

Jennifer Lopez plays the protagonist of this thrilling film set in space. She is known for other projects such as "The Mother," "Hustlers," and "The Backup Plan," so I assumed "Atlas" was in safe hands. But her performance, along with the general narrative and action sequence, has been in the limelight since her debut.

Is this movie worth watching or should I skip it? Let's delve into what the plot and critics are saying about it now.

"Atlas" follows a post-apocalyptic world where rebellious robots fell after the destruction of humanity because they wanted to eliminate humanity. The robot in question, Harlan (Simu Liu), advances into space and promises to return to Earth again. To put an end to his genocide behavior, data analyst Atlas Shepherd (Jennifer Lopez) is on a mission to catch him, despite his incredible distrust of AI.

The world once had humans and robots together. As you can imagine, Atlas now struggles to confront something remotely robotic on her mission, but while she's in a mechanical suit, Smith (

In this sci-fi thriller, there's an interesting premise that makes you think about the potential dangers of AI progression. Our world has always been interested in computers and machines, and the very idea of technology that defies us is unsettling. That is why "Atlas" acts as a film, but there are other things to say to professional critics.

"Atlas", despite its interesting and thrilling premise, did not stand out in the sci-fi genre, according to critics. The movie is currently about 14% on Rotten Tomatoes, which is obviously very low for the big-budget Netflix original. Note, however, that this score may change the number of reviews that are generated over time.

Ross McIndoe of Slant Magazine said, "Atlas is like a story that should have been experienced with a gamepad in hand.William Bibbiani of Rap also shared a similar opinion, saying: "It's a shame that all the general dialogue, the embarrassing plot, the banal action and the oddly ineffective performance filmmakers did not find it."

Todd Gilchrist of Variety did not enjoy the conventional structure followed by "Atlas." It "had a lack of ingenious ideas that underestimated the charm of Atlas, Lopez left to defend herself for herself almost as much as her characters in the film's stylized narrative are forced. The relationship between Lopez and Lopez had a great influence on the relationship between Lopez and Lopez.

But despite the low score and the reviews being quite negative, I don't want to beat this film completely. And considering that everyone has a preference when it comes to sci-fi thrillers, it's fair for people to form their own opinions. Matt Donato of IGN Movies said, "Atlas may not be the next groundbreaking sci-fi epic, but Brad Peyton's humanity - vs.- AI saga earns points to entertain us.

If I'm completely honest, most movies and TV shows today are taken too seriously. The more common blockbuster is supposed to be interesting and fun, with visually pleasing effects that keep you hooked on the action. It's a lot like "Atlas," an uneasy undertone and fun watch that focuses on the dangers of evolving AI.

Of course, critics make professional evaluations of the film, but they examine every detail to create an accurate opinion. Being part of the audience, we're supposed to take it in and enjoy the film as a casual viewer. I want to put myself in a sci-fi mood before you watch "Atlas"

, especially if you're big on dramatic action sequences and enjoy movies like "Terminator" and "Pacific Rim." Check out the best sci-fi movies on Netflix right now or watch shows worth streaming in the top 10.
