New HBO video takes a peek behind the scenes in "House of the Dragon" Season 2

"The Dance of the Dragon has kicked off completely," hbo declared actor Ewan Mitchell about the "House of the Dragon" season 2, in a brand new video recently released, Emma Darcy (who plays Rainila Targaryen), Matt Smith (Damon Targaryen), Oprah Winfrey (Jennifer Lawrence) and other stars. Featuring Mitchell's fellow cast mates like Livia Cook (Alicent Hightower) and others, "HOTD" fans are teasing what they can expect from the upcoming episode. (Season 2 will debut on HBO and Max on 6/16.)

In the second season of the Game of Thrones prequel series, the Targaryen family's succession war ratcheted up and "troops are being pulled up and alliances are being formed," Cook said in a two-minute clip. As for portraying the family feud on the Iron Throne between Rhaenyra and her half-brother Aegon II (Tom Glynn-Carney), "House of The Dragon" showrunner Ryan Condal happily declared: "This is the juicy part of the drama, so we were excited to get into it."

The actors also noted that the second season's pure range is "much larger" from "the rapid expansion of the physical set" per d'Arcy to that this time there is a "sense of the world, a sense of the kingdom," Cooke added. Glynn-Carney is a work of various teams that put together a large-budget production, including ambitious fantasy series, period costumes, gorgeous settings, intense battle sequences, impressive visual effects, etc. "There are specialists in every corner of the room. We all work as a team to make something pretty spectacular," the actor said.

He also jokingly added that sometimes, of course, "load more dragons." (Smith, who plays his on-screen uncle, tells fans "It's called "The House of the Dragon."In fact, what further complicates the conflict is the very existence of those dragons: "There are dragons on both sides," Condal said in the clip. "The stakes are going up and up.

Along with a behind-the-scenes feature, HBO also released a new "House of The Dragon" trailer earlier this week, giving fans a close peek at all of the brutality and betrayal that has been brewing since the season 1 finale when aemond Targaryen (Mitchell)'s Dragon shockingly killed Rhaenyra's son Lucerys Velaryon (Elliot Grihault). "I'm not going to let that happen," he said.

Unlike previous duel trailers, D'Arcy's Rhaenyra and Dragonstone forces pitted against Cooke's Alicent and the rest of King's Landing's crew, forcing fans to choose allegiance — the new clip showcases both Team Black and Team Green. It showcases the complex connections of both royal women, as well as several marital strife between Rhaenyra and Daemon.

Tom's Guide continues to post on everything related to "House of The Dragon" season 2, including new trailers and behind-the-scenes clips, casting information and insights, and episode details. You can catch up with all of them.
