Ever since it was announced that Max would join Netflix and Disney in a campaign to crack down on password sharing, many have wondered how the streaming service would begin planning. As one of the best streaming services to remove this feature, it would not be surprising to see more platforms join in the coming months.

A recent report from Bloomberg claims that Max will copy Netflix's Playbook to achieve growth within the next year. Executives at Warner Bros. Discovery have a fairly detailed plan, which starts with getting rid of all forms of password sharing to encourage more people to create accounts. This means more active members will pay for streaming services.

Max plans to begin this crackdown as early as the fall. This is really smart timing, since the most anticipated shows, such as "House of Dragons" Season 2, "The Penguin" and "Dune" will be released before the end of the year: a prophecy". Thus, this programming slot alone will convince people to join this platform.

As soon as Netflix started cracking down on password sharing, it made soaring numbers as people who wanted to keep the platform signed up. After seeing this success, Max will probably use similar tactics later this year to keep as many subscribers as possible.

The tactic is to add additional members to current account users for $9.99 or less, depending on whether or not ads are displayed. The new members would have their own name and password on the account to ensure their freedom over content. Of course, a less expensive fee option would further encourage users to keep their accounts and add family and friends.

Now, if Max were to do the same, its streaming platform could see significant growth. A crackdown on password sharing, coupled with international expansion, would put Warner Bros. back on its feet in the streaming market. European countries such as Scandinavia, Spain, and Portugal will eventually have access to the service, and Max will be able to generate additional revenue.

There is no official date yet on when Max will remove password sharing, but it will probably be later this year when the big shows are released. This is more of an incentive for people to keep their subscriptions and pay a little extra to add additional members to the same account.

So for those who currently share an account, now is the time to watch all the new HBO and Max shows and movies before the password sharing feature is gone forever. That said, just as Netflix grew rapidly once it began cracking down, the platform is no longer worth investing in; if Max has the same success, or even more, more of the expected content will be available on streaming services more of the expected content on streaming services.
