The crowd outside a British courthouse cheered as Kevin Spacey tearfully thanked them for their support after he was acquitted of sexual assault against four men last July. This follows a trial in New York in October 2022, where a jury concluded that he did not sexually abuse fellow actor Anthony Rapp, then 14, in the 1980s.

A new two-part documentary, "Spacey Unmasked," will feature "never-before-seen interviews" and will feature testimony from many men who say they met the actor from high school through his tenure as artistic director of the Old Vic Theater in London.

Spacey fired back in dramatic fashion, saying on X (formerly Twitter) that the 64-year-old had been given only seven days to respond to allegations "dating back 48 years" and had not been provided "sufficient detail to investigate these issues."

"Last week I have repeatedly requested that Channel 4 be given seven more days to respond to the allegations against me dating back 48 years and to provide sufficient detail to investigate these issues. Channel 4 has refused on the grounds that it feels that requiring a response within seven days to new, anonymized, non-specific allegations is a "fair opportunity" to rebut the allegations against me.

"I will not be silently attacked where a dying network produces a one-sided "documentary" about me in the hopes of ratings. There is a proper channel that deals with the allegations against me, and it is not Channel 4.

"Every time I have been given the time and proper forum to defend myself, the allegations have failed under scrutiny and I have been exonerated. Channel 4 and Roast Beef TV may be "speechless" but I am no longer.
