Don't miss the best dark thriller shows on Prime Video.

Discovering new horror shows streaming online is welcome. But if it boasts high Rotten Tomatoes scores and certified fresh ratings, I'm even more intrigued and eager to check it out. If, like me, you occasionally want to watch something with a little tension, consider adding "Fromm" to your list.

"Fromm" brings something completely new to the horror genre, and I can assure you that it will catch everyone by surprise, even those who live for horror. I remember hiding behind my hands one minute and staring at the screen with anticipation the next. Along with the excellent scares, the film creates a profound drama and deep character development that makes you feel like you are watching something real.

"Fromm" is currently available on Prime Video, but not for very long. Stream Season 1 for a chance to immerse yourself in an extraordinary world, and if you subscribe to MGM Plus, you can watch Season 2 as well. You will thank me later.

Is there such a thing as the perfect nightmare? Of course, "Fromm" embodies it perfectly. From the mysterious town to the creatures that come out at night, this show really pulls you into its world and doesn't let go. From has captured my heart and hasn't let go since it first opened to the public in 2022."

Without wanting to be a spoiler, "Fromm" is about a small town that traps anyone who passes by. This alone is an unsettling premise, but there is also another threat lurking in the town, and that threat is a human-like creature that stalks its residents at night. These bloodthirsty monsters, however, will not enter the homes of those who have amulets by their doors.

Harold Perrineau plays Boyd Stevens, the local sheriff who rings the bell every sunset to protect the townspeople. Because everyone is home, no one has to face the wrath of the evil creatures, but that doesn't always happen.

You may notice that "From" has a similar vibe to "Lost" because the two executive producers are Jack Bender and Jeff Pinkner. Of course, Perrineau also played Michael in "Lost," so fans of that iconic sci-fi drama will surely love this tense horror.

I'm not the only one who thought "Fromm" was absolutely brilliant. With a score as high as 96% on Rotten Tomatoes, it must be good. The audience score is currently around 89%.

Brad Newsom of the Sydney Morning Herald praised the series: "The horror is real and gets really gross, but it's not just a splatter movie. Series creator John Griffin has meticulously built a world, and all the characters have their own back stories and personal demons."

And I very much agree.

Fox 10 Phoenix's Allison Shoemaker emphasized that "Fromm" carries the DNA of "Lost" in the best possible way. Shoemaker said, "It has a Stephen King vibe, but the key to its success is its clever worldbuilding."

Not all critics liked the tense horror series, however, as indieWire's Kristen Lopez says: "Depending on your point of view, it spends too much time setting up the worldview and not moving the story forward.

It's a chance to stream "From" before it hits theaters on April 30, and since it's not on a major streaming service like Netflix, I think it's being overlooked a lot.

"Fromm" makes me love the horror genre even more, and Harold Perrineau gives a great performance as a traumatized but determined sheriff. Sit back, grab your favorite snacks, and immerse yourself in every episode. Season 1 is available on Prime Video and Season 2 is available on MGM Plus.
