Last year's champion Adam Yates and third-place finisher Damiano Caruso will once again compete in the six-day race in the French-speaking Romandie region of western Switzerland, battling it out in the beautiful mountain scenery of the region.

The fourth queen stage lived up to the hype, with an exciting finale on the climb to the finish. Both the win and the race lead were up for grabs, with Richard Kalapas (EF Education-Easy Post) winning the stage, but only just missing from the rapidly approaching Florian Lipowitz (Bora-Hansgrohe).

Behind the overall contenders, overnight leader Juan Ayuso (UAE Team Emirates) opened the door to the yellow jersey for another young Spaniard, Carlos Rodriguez (INEOS Grenadiers), and an exciting race ensued.

The final stage, Stage 5, will feature 150 km of racing around the town of Vernier.

Stage 4, from Saillon to Leysin, is 151.7 km with five mountainous sections, including a 10 km summit finish at the end.

After this, the GC contenders will only have the final stage, the Vernier lap.
