One of the most nerve-wracking horror films returns to theaters - but only for one day!

Given that I grew up watching the genre, it's hard for horror films to really scare me. But when one particular film shakes me to my core to the point that I actually have nightmares (a rare occurrence for me), I know that the film, while unique, has nailed every horror trope perfectly.

One such film is "Hereditary," and if you haven't seen it yet, now is the time to experience what I did. This horror masterpiece was created by Ari Aster, who you may know from his other films such as "Midsomer" and "Beau is Afraid". Astor's passion for horror is evident in all of his films, and 2018's "Hereditary" is his first true masterpiece.

"Hereditary" is a disturbing but unusual film about Annie Graham (Toni Collette) as she and her children mourn the death of their mother Ellen (Kathleen Chalfant). In their grief, they learn about their ancestors by examining Ellen's belongings, but what they find is truly sinister. After a seance fails and unexpected deaths occur, the Graham family must confront the evil one.

When I learned that A24 (a film distributor) was partnering with IMAX to bring back "Hereditary," I knew I had to share it. This film deserves to be back in the spotlight in theaters. I'm not sure if I'll be able to share it with the public, as its eerie cinematography and loud silence might make people like horror more, or appreciate the genre in general.

"Hereditary" has been officially remastered for IMAX, allowing viewers to experience the madness of horror on a larger screen with enhanced sound and images. From the twinkling lights of the seances to the disturbing faces in the darkness, believe me when I say that every detail is worth seeing and relentless terror.

There are more than 300 IMAX screening theaters in the U.S. to see "Hereditary," but only a few abroad. You can check the IMAX ticket website to see if there is a theater near you that is showing the film. If necessary, you can also check for movies currently in theaters, such as "Civil War" and the upcoming sporty hit "Challengers."

It is important to note that "Hereditary" will only be available on April 24, so if you want to see it, now is the time to get your tickets. Unfortunately, the film will not be shown again during this theatrical event.

In fact, A24 and IMAX are showing "Hereditary" as part of a monthly screening series that runs through next year to highlight some of A24's most successful premium films. The next film to be screened is "Uncut Gems" on May 22, but you can keep checking their website to see what will be shown next.

If you're still on the fence about whether or not to see "Hereditary," let me give you one final nudge. While you may feel compelled to watch this horror film at home, it will not be the same experience as watching the horrific events unfold on the big screen, especially in IMAX. In a movie theater, you can properly immerse yourself in the story and follow the characters as they navigate through the terrifying narrative.

Considering that "Hereditary" is only showing for one day, there is no harm in checking it out. I guarantee you will leave the theater with two thoughts: "What the hell was that?" and "One of the best horror films ever made."
