Razer has unveiled its new gaming mouse, the Razer Viper V3 Pro, which the company calls "the pinnacle of esports engineering" Its biggest selling point is its true 8000 Hz wireless polling rate, making it one of the fastest wireless gaming mice on the market
According to Jeffrey Chow, Razer's Director of Global Esports, "The Viper V3 Pro was born from the valuable insights of Team Razer's elite esports pros With its revolutionary shape, lightweight construction, and most advanced technology to date, it is designed to deliver maximum precision and speed, allowing gamers to perform at their peak and reach their full potential"
[4The 8000 Hz wireless polling rate requires a separate dongle to be placed near the mouse Thankfully, the Razer Viper V3 Pro ships with this dongle, so there is no need to buy an extra one
Another big selling point is the weight, which Razer has managed to reduce by 4 grams from the previous generation's weight to 54 grams This much weight for a battery-powered wireless mouse can only be described as impressive
Other updates include a second-generation 35,000 DPI "Focus Pro" optical sensor that changes DPI in just one increment; Razer has also increased the size of the mouse foot to aid movement, a smooth-touch finish, and a lower DPI buttons strategically placed on the underside to prevent accidental clicks
The Razer Viper V3 Pro is available now for $159 While that sounds expensive, the previous version was $149 and did not include a $30 dongle that allows for an 8000 Hz polling rate From this perspective, the Viper V3 Pro actually seems like a better bargain
The final nice change to the Razer Viper V3 Pro is the absence of plastic from the packaging Stay tuned for a full review
