One of the most iconic science fiction films of all time will soon be available on Prime Video.

There is nothing like an evening spent watching your favorite classic movie. Putting your feet up and experiencing some long-forgotten nostalgia is sheer bliss. Fortunately, the best streaming services have extensive libraries that include iconic movies, and Prime Video is one of those services that currently has one of my favorite sci-fi movies of all time.

"The Terminator" is in fact a standout work of art in the entertainment industry and was surprisingly successful for its time; with a Rotten Tomatoes score of 100%, it's clear that the film resonated with many people around the world, including me. I plan to see this iconic sci-fi action film this weekend. Not only to make the most of being on a streaming service, but also to experience the lovable cyborg assassin wreaking havoc once again.

So if you're looking for the best movies to watch on streaming this week, "The Terminator" is worth adding to your list. It will be available on Prime Video in the U.S. until April 30, so don't miss it.

Unfortunately, "Terminator" won't be back (pun intended) once it's no longer available on Prime Video. So if you're in the mood for some fun action mixed with intense fight scenes, stream this iconic film starring Arnold Schwarzenegger. For those of you who haven't seen it yet, here's a brief synopsis without spoiling anything. Seriously, how have you never seen this?

A cyborg assassin (Schwarzenegger) known as the Terminator goes back in time to kill a woman named Sarah Connor (Linda Hamilton). Meanwhile, a human soldier named Kyle Reese (Michael Biehn) is sent to protect Connor by revealing dark secrets about the dangerous artificial intelligence system Skynet and what role Connor will play in its future destruction. Reese must protect her from danger because Skynet knows that her unborn son will be the key to destroying the system. [The success of 1984's "The Terminator" spawned a new franchise, with sequels and prequels that told the backstory of the cyborg assassin and even a future in which Connor's son would appear. And the film may have foretold that the computer systems of this technology-driven world would become self-aware.

Yes, it is surprising that critics are still giving favorable reviews to this 1984 film. The same goes for the fans, as Rotten Tomatoes has an audience score of about 89%. This proves that people are still watching the film, and so is the chance to experience it again on Prime Video. If you haven't seen it yet, check out our review below.

Jason Bailey of Flavorwire says: "It's easy to forget the film's flaws, like the cartoonish look of a war-torn future. The film makes even the most absurd developments believable, and we willingly go along for the ride. Meanwhile, says CBR's Howard Waldstein: "There is perhaps no villain more iconic of the '80s than Arnold Schwarzenegger's Terminator." [Kirk Ellis of the Hollywood Reporter believes that "this train wreck will be a veritable steel trap of a film that may be the best of its kind since The Road Warrior."

Thus, "The Terminator" continues to receive praise from top critics and audiences, proving that it will never truly die.

With not much time left until "Terminator" officially leaves Prime Video, it's worth a second look (or first) this weekend. I have always admired the action, the well-crafted story, and Schwarzenegger's performance as the ruthless cyborg assassin.

According to countless Rotten Tomatoes reviews, it even beats modern action movies, despite being 40 years old. It is definitely worth your time to step back in time and appreciate the birth of such a classic franchise.
