"Kung Fu Panda 4" makes its streaming debut this week. In this latest installment of the popular animated series, Po (voiced by Jack Black) is back and faces off against a shape-shifting sorcerer. Po (Jack Black) returns in "Kung Fu Panda 4." The latest sequel to the long-running animated series follows the adorable martial arts master as he prepares to become the spiritual leader of the Valley of Peace. But this means he must relinquish his title of Dragon Warrior and find a worthy successor to take his place. Further complicating matters for the hungry panda bear is the emergence of a new villain called the Chameleon (Viola Davis). The Chameleon can transform into the form of Poe's past enemies and mimic their butt-kicking techniques. With the help of a new ally, the thieving fox Zen (Akwafina), Poe must foil the Chameleon's evil plans.

Oscar-winner Anthony Hopkins stars in "One Life," a biographical drama based on an inspiring true story. Hopkins plays Nicholas "Nicky" Winton, a young London broker who helped recapture hundreds of children from German-occupied Czechoslovakia in the months leading up to World War II. This warmly received drama portrays Nicky's courageous actions in the 1930s, as well as the profound impact of that experience on her later life. Helen Bonham Carter plays Nicky's mother, Babi, and the always wonderful Jonathan Pryce stars. One Life is a moving tribute to the best of humanity."

"Argyle," the new madcap spy action comedy from the unique talents of Matthew Vaughn, failed at the box office but will find new life on Apple TV Plus. With an all-star cast that includes Henry Cavill, Bryce Dallas Howard, Sam Rockwell, Bryan Cranston, John Cena, Ariana DeVos, Samuel L. Jackson, Catherine O'Hara, and Dua Lipa, "Argyle" is a new spy novel that her The film features a reclusive writer (Howard) who is drawn into the world of secret agents as they begin to mirror real-world events. If you like Vaughn's "Kingsman" series, "Argyle" will appeal to you with its blend of over-the-top action, silly humor, and rather questionable CGI.

Speaking of box office flops, "Drive-Away Dolls," another film that struggled to find an audience when it opened in theaters earlier this year, is now heading to streaming, and a second wind may find a second wind. Directed by Ethan Cohen, this absurdist comedy is his first solo directorial effort without his brother Joel, but the Coen film trademark is still alive and well. Starring Margaret Qualley and Geraldine Viswanathan as best friends who take a road trip to Tallahassee, Fla. This road trip turns into one hell of an odyssey as they are pursued by an evil organization that is after a mysterious briefcase.

Hulu's "Greatest Hits" is based on the idea that certain songs can be linked to moments in life. In this fantasy rom-com, Harriet (Lucy Boynton) finds that when she plays a particular song, she is transported back in time to a pivotal moment in her past. This allows her to relive memories of her former lover Max (David Corenswett), but at the same time, in the present, Harriet finds herself attracted to a new love interest (Justin H. Min). Harriet finds nostalgic comfort in her timeless adventure, but ultimately must decide whether to change the past forever or move on with her life and give her new love a chance.

"Strange Way of Life," a short film that is technically just over 30 minutes long, is a worthy addition to your Netflix watch list, although it won't keep you up all night. Directed by Pedro Almodóvar, the film stars Ethan Hawke and Pedro Pascal as two gunmen reunited after 25 years. The short premiered at the Cannes Film Festival in May 2023 and was generally well received by critics. When you need a bite-sized yet highly engaging and well-crafted film, this is the film to choose.

AMC this week released the action thriller Mayhem. Sam (Nassim Rais) is a professional boxer and ex-con recently released from prison, but his freedom soon turns into a nightmare as his past haunts him. Forced to flee and start a new life in Thailand, Sam may find peace. With the packed action and literal mayhem, peace was not a realistic option.
