Top 5 New Shows Available This Week on Netflix, Max, TV and More (April 15-21)

New shows are streaming this week on Netflix, Prime Video, and other streaming services, as well as on broadcast and cable television, in anticipation of spring.

Two true crime shows lead the new programming lineup this week. One is "The Jinx - Part Two," the highly anticipated sequel to Robert Durst's murder trial. The other is a drama starring Riley Keough and Oscar nominee Lily Gladstone about the murder of a teenager. On the more lighthearted side, Conan O'Brien announces a travel show and Netflix's "The Circle" returns with a new twist. The top new shows to watch this week include.

Oscar nominee Lily Gladstone stars in her first television role in this true-life limited series based on author Rebecca Godfrey's book about the 1997 disappearance and murder of a 14-year-old Canadian girl. When Leena Virk (Vrittika Gupta) is found dead after attending a party, local police officer Cam Bentland (Gladstone) and journalist Rebecca Godfrey (Riley Keough) search for the shocking truth about what happened to her and a teen world full of hate and violence She uncovers a world full of hatred and violence.

Premieres Wednesday, April 17 at 12 a.m. ET on Hulu

A new change is coming to Netflix's social media reality series. A new "type" of catfish will be introduced, including a "Circle" superfan and a player who uses photos of himself before he lost a lot of weight. And Max ..... .an AI bot! Season 6 also offers new developments, such as "Ride or Die," in which two players pair up. If one gets blocked, the other might get blocked along with them. Frustrated face emoji, sent!

When Conan O'Brien's self-titled late night show on TBS ended in 2021, the announced plan was for the comedian to show on what was then called HBO Max was to create a show on what was then called HBO Max. After a long wait, that show finally appeared. The show was inspired by Conan O'Brien Needs a Fan, a podcast in which he chats with listeners from around the world. The show takes him to Norway, Thailand, Argentina, and Ireland to meet friends he has made through the podcast, as well as to introduce the sights, cuisine, and culture of these places with his signature irreverent humor.

First airing on Max on Thursday, April 18 at 3 a.m. ET

The popular children's fantasy book by Tony DiTerlizzi and Holly Black has already been made into a movie in 2008, and now it is coming to the small screen. This is the coming-of-age story of the Grace family: Helen (Joy Bryant), 15-year-old identical twins Jared (Leon Daniels) and Simon (Noah Cottrell), and their younger sister Mallory (Mychala Lee). After moving into their ancestral home, Spiderwick, Jared discovers a boggart and realizes that magical creatures exist. In fact, a secret, fantastical world surrounds them. And they need guidance on how to stay safe from the murderous Margaras (Christian Slater).

Premieres Friday, April 19 at 3:00 a.m. ET on the Roku channel

One of the biggest true crime sensations of the past decade is the murder of longtime friend Susan Berman, the suspected real estate billionaire Robert Durst returns in this latest edition of the sensational case. Directed by Andrew Jarecki, the miniseries made headlines when Durst was arrested the day before the finale aired. In "Part 2," Jarecki chronicles the events leading up to the indictment, with interviews with the attorneys, jurors, and judges on both sides of the case. It also features new material, including phone calls Durst made from prison and video footage of the interrogation room.

It premieres Sunday, April 21 at 10 p.m. ET on HBO and Max
