Samsung's next high-end foldable could ship with three key upgrades that will make buying a phone later this year much more attractive.

The Galaxy Z Fold 6 will be lighter and thinner than last year's Galaxy Z Fold 5, reports serial leaker Ice Universe, citing knowledge of Samsung's plans. The device will weigh 239 grams, which is reasonably lighter than the 253-gram Galaxy Z Fold 5. The handset will also be slightly slimmer, going from 13.4 mm when folded last year to 12.1 mm this year.

But that's not the only information Ice Universe has. The informant added that this year's Samsung foldable will have a 7.6-inch inner display and a 6.3-inch outer display. The inner display will have a 7:6 aspect ratio and the outer display will have a 22:9 aspect ratio, according to Ice Universe, which should be notable given that the Galaxy Z Fold 5's 7.6-inch inner display had a 5:6 aspect ratio and the outer display was 0.1 inch smaller at 6.2 inches. this is a notable improvement.

Perhaps most importantly, Ice Universe cites sources that both displays will offer a sharper image thanks to the improved resolution of both displays. It avoids mentioning how much it will improve.

Galaxy Z Fold 6 rumors are flying fast and furious as Samsung gets closer to a final announcement. Last month, there were reports that Samsung would add Gorilla Glass Armor protection to the Galaxy Z Fold's display as well, which would reduce glare and reflection issues in bright environments. Another report said that Samsung will offer both 12GB and 16GB models to choose from, and that the Galaxy Z Fold 6 will be the first Samsung foldable with 16GB of RAM.

But according to rumors, the update goes far beyond that. Samsung is also reportedly planning a refined look and feel for the Galaxy Z Fold 6, making it look more like a premium product. It will also likely feature Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset for a power boost. However, one place where Samsung is not expected to make any major changes is the camera.

Samsung has not commented on the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and has not even acknowledged its existence. However, the company is expected to hold its next Unpacked event in July, where the foldable will likely be announced and all the details regarding what users can expect at launch will be provided.
