Looking for new films to watch this week, major streaming services including Netflix and Peacock have a slew of notable releases.

This week, "Imaginary" and "Lisa Frankenstein" make their streaming debuts after being released theatrically earlier this year. In addition, Netflix will stream two new films this week. First is "When You Finish Saving the World," the directorial debut of Jesse Eisenberg. Meanwhile, soccer fans will enjoy "Beautiful Game," a feel-good movie based on a true story.

Cynthia Erivo will play the lead role of Elphaba in the film adaptation of the hit Broadway musical "Wicked" (due November 27). Before that, however, Elivo can be seen in the drama film Drift, in which the two-time Oscar nominee plays a troubled refugee. [After fleeing conflict in her native Liberia, Jacqueline takes refuge on a picturesque Greek island, where she meets a free-spirited American tour guide (Ira Shawkat), and the two quickly develop a friendship. The two form a deep bond that gives them the strength to move forward.

"Stop Making Sense" is a legendary concert film focusing on the American rock band Talking Heads, originally debuted in 1984, and is being released in stunning 4K for the first time to celebrate its 40th anniversary. This home video release follows the theatrical release of the film last September, which successfully introduced the hit-making band to a whole new audience of listeners.

The documentary has served as the inspiration for countless concert films in the decades since its original release and has been praised for accurately capturing the high-energy performance style that Talking Heads brought to live shows. To further celebrate this anniversary, A24 will release a tribute album featuring artists such as Paramore, Miley Cyrus, and Lorde.

Inspired by a true story, Ordinary Angels is a faith-based drama starring Hilary Swank as a hairdresser drifting through life. But she finds a sense of purpose when she meets a widowed father (Alan Ritchson) who cares for her two daughters. Sharon Stevens, played by Swank, calls for the cooperation of the local community against the backdrop of the great North American cold wave blizzard of 1994. Although "Ordinary Angels" did not do well at the box office, it was enthusiastically received in theaters when it opened in February, scoring as high as 99 percent on Rotten Tomatoes.

Jesse Eisenberg gets behind the camera in his directorial debut, "When You Finish Saving the World." The comedy-drama is based on Eisenberg's 2020 Audible original drama of the same name, which won an Audie Award for best "original work." The adaptation stars Julianne Moore and "Stranger Things" star Finn Wolfhard.

Moore plays Evelyn, a woman dedicated to helping others, who runs a shelter for survivors of domestic abuse. However, while she is a professional at engaging with the people she meets at the shelter and even acts as a mother figure to the troubled teenage residents, she struggles to connect with her own son Ziggy (Wolfhard), who is trying to build a successful career as an online folk singer.

Streaming on Netflix beginning March 28

"The Taste of Things" was unexpectedly controversial when France submitted it for Best International Feature Film at this year's Academy Awards, beating out "Anatomy - A Fall" (which later won Best Original Screenplay). Despite the controversy, this romantic drama deserves to be recognized on its own merits, and this delightful gourmet film from director Trần Anh Hùng focuses on the relationship between a cook (Juliette Binoche) and the gastronome (Benoît Magimel) with whom she has worked for 20 years. They are romantically engaged, but not really together, and the film depicts the gourmet chef's attempts to connect with his understudy.

"Imaginary" was just released this month, but the Blumhouse horror is already available this week on video-on-demand services. This brief gap between its cinema debut and its streaming launch can be seen as an indication of its overall quality, and its scathing reviews (26% score on Rotten Tomatoes) do not suggest otherwise.

A young woman named Jessica (DeWanda Wise) returns to her childhood home with her new husband, only to discover that her long-forgotten image friend, Chonsie the bear, is not as made-up as you might think. What's more, Chonsie is not so friendly anymore and plots to capture the soul of Jessica's young stepdaughter Alice (Piper Brown).

Sport has the power to unite and inspire. Mal, played by Bill Nye, attempts to build an England national team that can compete in the Homeless World Cup in Rome, Italy.

Inspired by the true story of this annual tournament that seeks to help those struggling with homelessness through sporting activities and fundraising, Mal may have the talent needed to put together a winning team, but first, a troubled striker if he wants to hoist the trophy, must convince Vinnie (Michael Ward) to put his ego aside and work with his teammates.

A quirky take on the classic monster movie, "Lisa Frankenstein" is the feature film debut of Zelda Williams, daughter of the late, great Robin Williams, and from the delightfully twisted mind of Diablo Cody The film was born. Indeed, the horror-comedy is set in the same fictional world as Cody's 2009 hit "Jennifer's Body."

Lisa Frankenstein, starring Kathryn Newton and Cole Sprouse, centers on a budding relationship between an outcast teenager (Newton) and a dead Victorian man (Sprouse) who died 150 years ago. This odd couple embarks on a coming-of-age journey to find love, happiness, and lost body parts. Critics were less than favorable to this bizarre film, but audiences bought into the crazy antics and it became a cult favorite.

Available on Peacock beginning March 29

George Clooney directed Joel Edgerton in Boys in the Boat, a somewhat sleepy biographical sports drama based on the 2012 novel of the same name by Daniel James Brown Set during the Great Depression, the film tells the inspiring true story of the University of Washington rowing team, which rose to prominence in 1936 by winning gold at the Summer Olympics in Berlin.

Edgerton plays the team's coach, Al Ulbrickson, and Callum Turner (best known for his roles in the Fantastic Beasts films and Apple TV Plus' Masters of the Air) plays a member of the team. Critics described the film as a run-of-the-mill biopic that lacks memorable moments, but audiences seem to disagree, with "The Boys in the Boat" holding an impressive audience score of 97% on Rotten Tomatoes.
