Leaked Rendering of Google Pixel 9 Reveals Major Camera Upgrade

Google now seems to be having problems keeping the Pixel 9 series under wraps. We recently saw a leaked rendered image of the Google Pixel 9 Pro, and now the Pixel 9 seems to be following suit.

The leak, courtesy of X-users @OnLeaks and 91mobiles, gives a strong impression of the Google Pixel 9's base design, which looks very familiar. For the most part, the Pixel 9 looks very similar to the Pixel 9 Pro, but more compact.

The biggest change is the addition of a third camera lens. This new lens is speculated to be a telephoto lens along with a wide-angle lens and an ultra-wide angle lens. This addition means that the base model of the Pixel is intended to be comparable to the Pixel-pro series. Unfortunately, no information on the camera's performance is available at this time. The camera housing itself has also been redesigned and appears to be smaller and more rounded than previous models.

Normally, Google keeps the third camera for the larger Pro model, instead limiting the camera on the base Pixel phone. This change may be an effort to compete with the Galaxy S24, which also completely removed the curved screen, a longtime design staple.

The actual Pixel 9 appears to have a smaller 6.1-inch screen than previously rumored, with a full flat screen. The actual casing is very similar to the iPhone 15, with rounded edges and volume and power buttons located on the sides. Finally, the USB-C port, speaker, and SIM card slot are located on the bottom of the phone; there are rumors that the Pixel 9 will have a temperature sensor, but no hardware details are available at this time.

It should be noted that there has been no confirmation from Google on the details of the Pixel 9. it is not certain when the Pixel 9 will be released, but we expect it will probably be around October.
