In February 2024, Prime Video will add tons of new content. One of my most anticipated TV shows of the year, "Mr. and Mrs. Donald Glover and Maya Erskine as a spy couple," could be one of the first hits of the new year. Since you've probably already purchased everything from TVs to toasters on Amazon Prime, you can watch it for free as part of your purchase.

But that's not all you can watch. In addition to this potentially hit original series, there's also a new movie about Jennifer Lopez's new album and a new comedy special from Jenny Slate. Prime Video is also adding dozens of existing TV shows and movies to its library this month, including Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem, one of my favorite movies of last year.

Was there any show I wrote more about this year? This adaptation of the 2005 film that introduced Brangelina to the world has been hotly anticipated for some time, partly because Donald Glover plays spy John Smith. He will no longer be co-starring with Phoebe Waller-Bridge, but from the trailer, Maya Erskine seems more than adequate as Mrs. Smith.

Whether it's the chemistry between these two rookie spies, the show's easily digestible procedural format, or the stellar cast that includes John Turturro, Paul Dano, and Alexander Skarsgård, "Mr. & Mrs. Smith" debuts this month on Prime Video

A classic romantic comedy with nuances of "The Devil Wears Prada," "Upgrade" stars Camila Mendes as Anna, an intern at a top New York auction house. When her boss, Claire Dupont (Marisa Tomei), demands that Ana attend an auction in London, a sympathetic airline employee upgrades her to first class. [There she meets Will (Archie Renaud). Will mistakes Ana for the director of the auction house. This romantic comedy seems unlikely to break new ground, but it has the potential to be a fun romantic comedy.

"This is Me . Jennifer Lopez's first studio album in over a decade, to be released on February 16, "This is Me . Now" has teamed up with director Dave Meyers and Prime Video to create a narrative musical to accompany the album. Described as "a narrative-driven cinematic original that presents a journey into love through her own eyes," "This is Me . Now: A Love Story" trailer looks like a rom-com, like "Wonka," and like "Alice in Wonderland." Fans of Lopez's music won't want to miss it.

Last year, "Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse" dominated the conversation when it came to otaku culture animated films. But this new "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" was, frankly, just as much fun to watch. With a fun story, a stellar voice cast including Ayo Edebiri, Ice Cube, and Paul Rudd, and a great soundtrack: "Mutant Mayhem" was surprisingly one of my favorite films released in 2023. Now available on Prime Video, if you haven't seen it yet, you should.

At this point, Jenny Slate is best known for her acting career. From "Marcel the Shell with Shoes On" to "Parks and Recreation," "Big Mouth" and "Everywhere All at Once," she has appeared in many acclaimed TV shows and movies. But she actually got her start as a standup comedian, and her latest film is coming to Prime Video this month.
