There are rumors that the Samsung Galaxy S23 will have the AI features of the Galaxy S24.

The Galaxy S24's Galaxy AI-powered instant slow motion feature will soon be added to the Galaxy S23 series.

This is according to a moderator on Samsung's community forum, specifically the Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23 Plus, S23 Ultra, and the new Galaxy Z Fold 5, Galaxy Z Flip 5, and Galaxy Tab S9 series The company has stated that the feature will eventually be added to several models, including tablets. However, the post does not confirm exactly when instant slow motion will be available on these devices.

The moderator also noted that the instant slow motion feature requires that each frame of the selected video be processed within 16.6 milliseconds to provide smooth real-time video playback. Therefore, this feature will not be available on older models such as the Galaxy S22.

This news comes shortly after Samsung recently announced a set of Galaxy AI features that will be included in the previous generation of Samsung devices. However, Samsung has yet to officially reveal which features will be included in this update.

Instant Slow Motion will allow users to convert portions of videos taken with their phones into slow motion. This is not the first time that a cell phone has included a dedicated slow motion feature, but it is the first to promise that users can easily convert pre-recorded video into slow motion with a simple tap on the screen. We tested this feature and found it to be well implemented and definitely worth a try.

Instant slow motion could join features such as Search in Circles, Live Translation, Note Assist, and Photo Assist as part of the Galaxy AI feature on older Samsung phones. The Galaxy AI update is expected to be part of the One UI 6.1 update that is rumored to be coming to the Galaxy S23 series as early as next month.

It is encouraging to see these new AI features coming to the older models in the Galaxy series; while the Galaxy S24 will still offer the best AI experience, users can pick up the relatively inexpensive Galaxy S23 series to get some of the best AI features, some of which are available at a lower cost. The Galaxy S24 will also receive seven years of Android updates, showing that Samsung is keeping its promise to fully support its flagship devices for years to come.
