Screw the critics. The People's Choice Awards ask the American public to weigh in on the best movies, TV shows and music of the past 12 months. The awards, now in their 49th year, will air for free in the U.S. on NBC, E. and Peacock, and in Australia on 7plus. But if you're away, we explain how to watch the People's Choice Awards 2024 online and from anywhere using a VPN.

Unlike the Academy Awards, which are determined by industry peers, the People's Choice Awards are exactly what they sound like. In other words, the stars who pick up the trophies are a more accurate reflection of the people who really matter - those who have touched the hearts of their fans.

Unsurprisingly, "Barbie" leads the Movie category with the most nominations. The Movie of the Year category has a wide variety of films, including "Fast X," "Oppenheimer," "Super Mario Bros. Movie," and "Taylor Swift": 5]

On the small screen, Hulu's popular comedy "Only Murders in the Building" received seven nominations in the TV category for its performances by Selena Gomez, Steve Martin, and the great Meryl Streep. The Last of Us, The Morning Show, and Ted Rathbos each received six nominations."

Both NBC and E. will broadcast the 2024 People's Choice Awards on network television. The awards ceremony will begin at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT on Sunday, February 18, and the red carpet will be broadcast in advance.

There are several ways to access these channels, the most obvious being to pull them down with one of the best TV antennas. Additionally, both of these are common to many cable plans.

Using a VPN is surprisingly easy.

3. Sit back and enjoy the action. Go to a regular streaming service and watch the People's Choice Awards 2024 stream as if you were at home.

In Australia, the People's Choice Awards will air on Monday, February 19 at 12pm AEDT on Freeview channel 7Bravo.

This means that it will be available on the station's 7plus streaming service, either simultaneously with the broadcast or on demand. This service is completely free to use. All you need to do is register your name, year of birth, and Australian postal code (e.g. NSW 2009).

7plus can be viewed online or via apps on a variety of devices, including browsers, smartphones, tablets, Apple TV, Chromecast, PS4, and some smart TVs.

CTV has the rights to air the 2024 People's Choice Awards 2024 in Canada.

This means that cable TV subscribers can watch the awards ceremony live on TV, CTV.ca, and the CTV mobile app on Sunday, February 18 at 8 pm ET/5 pm ET.

The awards ceremony will also be broadcast on local NBC channels, so be sure to check the programming schedule.

It is not currently broadcast in Canada; you can access the streaming service abroad by signing up for ExpressVPN.

This year's People's Choice Awards are not featured anywhere in the UK TV listings.

Americans, Australians, and Canadians in the UK who want to watch the awards ceremony will need a VPN to watch it on Peacock or other OTT streaming platforms as if they were at home.
