7 New Shows to Watch This Week on Netflix, Disney Plus, TV and More (Feb. 19-25)

Mid-February is the perfect time to hunker down and get comfortable with the new shows premiering this week on Netflix, Disney Plus, other streaming services, and broadcast and cable television.

New shows this week include Formula 1: Also airing are the final seasons of "The Good Doctor" and "Star Wars: The Bad Batch." A new spin-off of "The Walking Dead," "The Ones Who Live," debuts. And the 30th annual Screen Actors Guild Awards will stream live on Netflix for the first time. Here are the top new shows to watch this week.

In the medical drama's final season, brilliant autistic surgeon Sean Murphy (Freddie Highmore) takes on the new challenge of being a good father. He and Lee (Paige Spalla) are still new to parenting and discuss the importance of schedules and routines for little Steve. When Sean returns to the hospital, the first cases are two babies who need the same heart - one of them is Morgan (Fiona Gubelman) and the infant Eden adopted by Alex (Will Yoon Lee). One of them was Eden -- adopted by Morgan (Fiona Gubelman) and Alex (Will Yoon Lee).

First aired on ABC on February 20 at 10 p.m. ET (via Sling or Fubo). Next day on Hulu

The drama has elements of its Apple sibling "For All Mankind" - astronauts, space disasters, and the twists and turns of reality. Constellation," though it has more of a thriller feel. Noomi Rapace stars as astronaut Joe, who narrowly escapes an explosion on the space station. Upon her return to Earth, she is happy to be reunited with her daughter. However, Joe realizes that an important part of his life is different. There is a piano in the house that was not there before, and her daughter does not look like herself. Is Joe hallucinating, or is something more sinister afoot?

Premiered on Apple TV Plus on February 21 at 12 a.m. ET

The third and final season of the "Star Wars" animated series was described by voice actor Dee Bradley Baker as "the end of George Lucas's legacy. As far as early reviews are concerned, it is a fitting culmination. The titular group, formed of elite clone troopers with genetic mutations, is reeling after the clash that defeated Tech and captured Omega. Divided and facing threats from all directions, the batch must seek out unexpected allies and embark on a dangerous mission to rescue Omega and ultimately free themselves from the Empire.

Premieres February 21 at 3 a.m. ET on Disney Plus

Nickelodeon's "Avatar: The Last Airbender" is one of the most beloved and acclaimed animated series of all time (as is its sequel "The Legend of Korra") M. Night Shyamalan attempted to adapt it into a live-action film, but it was not well received. Now Netflix hopes to do better with a live-action series adaptation. The story remains the same: Aang is a young boy destined to become the next Avatar. He must master the four elements of water, earth, fire, and air in order to restore balance to a world threatened by the hostile "Fire Nation."

Premiering on Netflix on February 22 at 3 a.m. ET

This hit racing docu-series is not about "who won," but "how." After all, fans already know what happened in the 2023 season. It is not much of a spoiler to say that champion Max Verstappen and Red Bull Racing will once again lead the pack. The thrill is not so much in the race results as in the behind-the-scenes machinations, gamesmanship, infighting, and simmering rivalries. Rookie drivers Oscar Piastri and Logan Sargent joined the grid in Season 6.

The show premieres on Netflix on February 23 at 3 a.m. ET

The SAG Awards have been broadcast on TNT for over 30 years, but will now stream live on Netflix for the first time. The awards honor the best performances in film and television and are voted on by SAG-AFTRA's more than 120,000 members. The Best Cast in a Motion Picture category went to "American Fiction," "Barbie," "The Color Purple," "The Flowering Tale," and "Oppenheimer." The TV Drama Ensemble category went to "The Crown," "The Gilded Age," "The Last of Us ", "The Morning Show" and "Succession". And in the TV comedy category, "Abbott Elementary," "Barry," "The Bear," "Only Murders in the Building" and "Ted Lasso" are nominated.

Premieres on Netflix on February 24 at 8 p.m. ET

More enduring than zombies is true love. The Walking Dead's Andrew Lincoln and Danai Girilla, who dropped out long before the original series ended, reunite for this spinoff about the epic romance between Rick Grimes and Michonne. Rick was presumed dead by his friends after a collision with a horde of walkers in Season 9, but was actually picked up by a strange militia in a helicopter. Michonne eventually left the group after discovering signs that Rick had survived. Years later, their paths are destined to cross again, but they have become two very different people... can their relationship be brought back to life?

Premieres February 25 at 3am ET on AMC Plus and 9pm ET on AMC (via Sling or Fubo)
