Greg Daniels, the man behind the American version of "The Office" and co-creator of "Parks and Recreation," is tackling sci-fi comedy with "Upload." In this futuristic version, people can "upload" themselves to a virtual afterlife of their choice. What's wrong with that? There's a lot. Nathan Brown (Robbie Amell) is uploaded to Lakeview by his still-living girlfriend. But he connects with Nora (Andy Allo), a customer service rep who helps him navigate his new future. Their bond will be more than just friendship.

In addition to all the humor about life, the afterlife, and human existence, "Uploaded" weaves a murder mystery into its plot, and with three seasons, there's plenty to enjoy over the weekend and beyond.

Dive into a more mysterious sci-fi selection with "Night Sky." Starring Sissy Spacek and J.K. Simmons, this series is about a couple who discover that there is a room in their backyard that leads to another planet. If only such a thing could happen to us. It wasn't long before the couple, Eileen (Spacek) and Franklin (Simmons), met a young man named Jude (Chai Hansen) from the chamber.

The main focus of the show is how this room and access to another planet changes their lives. Unfortunately, the show lasted only one season, although it received positive reviews from critics. The strong performances by all involved are adorable and leave you wanting more after you've seen it.

In this iconic 90s sci-fi show, David Duchovny plays Fox Mulder, a true believer in the paranormal, and Gillian Anderson plays Dana Scully, a chronic skeptic. They are partners in an FBI unit called the "X-Files," formed to solve cases involving unexplained paranormal phenomena.

The show has won an astounding 16 Primetime Emmy Awards. If you haven't seen this series yet, you're in for a treat: after this broadcast ended in 2002, "The X-Files" returned for season 10 in 2016 and season 11 in 2018 (though it was not well received). Additionally, two feature films were released during that time. There has been talk of reviving the show, so now is the time to check out or re-watch this iconic sci-fi series.

Loosely inspired by the 2014 novel of the same name by William Gibson, this sci-fi show takes us to a future where technology has subtly altered society. What makes this show intriguing is that the science fiction in the show is not so far removed from reality. Flynn Fisher, played by Chloe Grace Moretz, finds herself testing a game system that unleashes all of her dreams and sends her into an alternate futuristic timeline. Unfortunately, her family is in danger in the real world because of the enemies she encounters in the future world she inhabits.

Unfortunately, this was another one-season-only show on Prime Video. However, that does not detract from the fun of the show. The visuals of the worlds that Flynn explores are engrossing and may cause you to rethink virtual reality.

Based on the book by James S. A. Corey, "Expanse" is a rich universe about humans colonizing the solar system. Earth is one of three major powers, and conflict erupts between Earth, Mars, and the asteroid belt. James Holden (Stephen Strait) and his crew witness the destruction of his ship by what appears to be a Martian warship. Meanwhile, Detective Joseph Miller (Thomas Jane) is searching for a missing woman connected to the Mars conflict.

True sci-fi fans will be enthralled by the six seasons of this amazing world. The visual elements and compelling plotlines will surely remind you of countless sci-fi favorites such as "Blade Runner" and "Battlestar Galactica."
