5 Best Action Movies You Can Stream Right Now on Hulu

What makes an action movie one of the "best"? For me, it's an action movie that isn't overly serious. I like movies that are full of campy characters, ridiculous storylines, and kickass soundtracks. If a movie like this can transport me to another world and get me back to real life in about two hours, bonus.

Luckily, Hulu has you covered. If you want to watch an action movie that's more bonkers than bloody, there are plenty to choose from. You can go back to medieval England to a rock soundtrack or figure out how to survive the zombie apocalypse with a positive attitude. Enjoy these five of the best action movies available on Hulu right now.

I can't think of another movie that combines Queen's "We Will Rock You" with jousting." This is a movie for those who love or hate anachronistic storytelling like "Bridgerton. But instead of taking the audience into English high society, filmmaker Brian Helgeland brings them into a land of knights, sword fights, and jousting. The film features a killer cast of talent, from Rufus Sewell to Heath Ledger to Paul Bettany.

"A Knight's Tale" portrays William Thatcher (Ledger). William Thatcher is a poor man who wants to improve his standing and catch the eye of a princess (Shannyn Sossamon). To do so, he must transform himself into an aristocrat who competes with Count Ademar (Sewell) in the jousting ring. William is supported by his merry band of friends, including Watt (Alan Tudyk), Roland (Mark Addy), and Chaucer (Bettany).

When National Treasure was released in 2004, it caused a sensation. Many articles were published to assure viewers that the Declaration of Independence had not been corrupted for the sake of the movie (and to prove that there was no secret map on the back). The film's story was wildly original and offered a new way to learn history. It captured the imagination. Of course it did. I still remember what I learned about daylight savings time from the movie. You better believe it.

"National Treasure" follows Ben Gates (Nicolas Cage) and Riley Poole (Justin Bartha) as they seek to unearth traces of symbols hidden in American historical artifacts. They team up with Abigail Chase (Diane Kruger) in a race against time to steal the Declaration of Independence before their nemesis (Sean Bean) does and find the hidden treasure.

The film has it all: hidden treasure, jungle exploration, and a flair for heavy comedy, thanks to Sandra Bullock and Channing Tatum. The Lost City follows Loretta Sage (Sandra Bullock), a romance novelist who goes into hiding after the death of her husband. When an evil billionaire (Daniel Radcliffe) believes Loretta knows how to find a long-lost treasure and kidnaps her, cover model Alan Caplison (Channing Tatum) tries to come to her rescue.

Loretta and Alan must navigate a dangerous jungle to escape. Critic Wenley Marr wrote that "'Lost City' is truly a throwaway romantic comedy adventure that has been elevated from fine to raucous thanks to the presence of Sandra Bullock."

There are so many iterations of zombie movies that it seems difficult to come up with situations that seem new and fresh. But "Little Monsters," which got its start at the Sundance Film Festival, found one, while adding a healthy dose of bloody humor. Critics praised Nyongo as a hilarious kindergarten teacher who comes up with elaborate excuses for slow-walking, brain-eating zombies in order to calm his students.

In order to get closer to kindergarten teacher Audrey (Lupita Nyongo), Dave (Alexander England) volunteers to chaperone a class trip to a local farm. However, when a group of zombies escape from a military facility and take over the farm, Audrey and Dave must work together to calm the children and keep them alive.

If you're still looking for a really dangerous, edge-of-your-seat action movie. Snowpeaker is set in a climate change dystopia, where society is re-created by a 1,000-car train. Chris Evans plays Curtis, a member of the lower class who fights to move from the back of the train to the front, where the poorest of the poor live. He must face off against Mason (Tilda Swinton), the director. The director is Boon Joon-ho, who later directed "Parasite," which won the Academy Award for Best Picture.

The film received rave reviews upon its release and currently has a 94% rating on Rotten Tomatoes. David Sims of The Atlantic wrote that "Snowpiercer" is "a rare experience you don't get much of in the summer anymore, a loud, clattering, inventive action film that grabs you by the collar and screams in your ear."
